STATISTICAL REVIEW 2000 Statistical Review 2000 Bourse de Montréal Inc. 2000 has been another activity-packed year for Bourse de Montréal Inc. It began with the completion last spring of the year-long restructuring process among Canadian exchanges, which saw Bourse de Montréal officially become Canada’s sole financial derivatives exchange. In fact, March 27, 2000 marked the final transfer of the options market from the Toronto Stock Exchange to Bourse de Montréal. Soon after, the Bourse announced its intention to demutualize, and within six months, became a for-profit company owned by shareholders. The autumn also saw the Bourse celebrate the 25th anniversary of its options market, and launch its new electronic trading platform known as SAM.
