Research Scientist in Chemistry of Materials EXPERIENCE Post-doctoral position at CEA, within the Laboratory of Physics of Synthetic Metals. I studied nanoparticles designed for the magnetic storage of data.

2004-2005 DRFMC, CEA Grenoble.

I improved the synthesis process of FePt magnetic nanoparticles. Through a wide panel of techniques (XPS, XRD, SQUID, TEM, IR) we highlighted the core-shell structure of these alloy nanoparticles. 2002-2004 Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL), Lausanne, Switzerland.

Post-doctoral position at EPFL, within the Laboratory of Nanostructures and Novel Electronic Materials : - research (synthesis and characterization of anticancer molecules ; synthesis of nanotubes made of polymer for the encapsulation of biomolecules) - teaching of physics in a microtechnician section at EPFL - position in the safety commission (in charge with chemical safety)

Within a multidisciplinary and multicultural team, I installed an experimental room for chemistry. In the frame of a european contract, I initiated some research activity in the field of synthesis of nanostructures made of polymer. I also took part in defining and writing new safety rules. 1999-2002 Institute of Materials, Nantes, France.

Thesis work at the Institute of Materials Jean Rouxel : - After studying bibliography, I defined the initial project (the use of carbon nanotubes as a template for the synthesis of mesoporous oxides). - I chose the different techniques of characterization for the synthesised materials. - After writing thesis (and making a CD-Rom version), I presented my results in several labs in Europe (Dublin, Karlsruhe, Lausanne) and at confererences in France and Belgium.

After studying the feasibility of the initial project, I got in touch with academic (Paris, Orsay, Rennes, Nantes, Angers) and industrial (Société Nationale des Poudres et Explosifs) laboratories that were useful for the progress of my research. In this way, I set up a research activity in a field that was completely new for my laboratory. I supervised a trainee student (IUT de Génie des Matériaux). 1998-1999 University Pierre et Marie Curie, Paris.

Traineeship (Diplôme d'Etudes Approfondies) at the CIMM laboratory (Inorganic Chemistry of Molecular Materials) : research concerning the organometallic synthesis of molecular materials (functionalized polyoxometalates).
