Philippe Herzog - Numeric’Art press release. Digital art. August 8, 2009 As there is a man of La Mancha, the man of the badlands (the iconoclast filmmaker Luc Moullet), Philippe Herzog defines himself as the files man aka FM: His work is designed on the computer for screens and his works are supported by computer files. Philippe Herzog - Numeric'Art, it's also the man who walks aka DTW (Don't Talk, Walk). While walking, he is very often reflecting to his works. On this matter, we can refer to the Rebecca Solnit's excellent book « Wanderlust : A History of Walking ». Philippe Herzog produces digital and caustic works, whose spirit is expressed by the title. He questions the slide show concept by associating his creations of vectorial drawings (geometrical basic figures or constructions) with his photos, films, musics, and giving the whole a suggestive title that tells a story, not where you would except. Sometimes, he uses the music of other artists, known songs that become integral part of his work. In short, materials : multimedia presentation, philosophy : of the multiple, mania : acronymy. Except for special cases, his works are edited in 4 versions : D F V P . D : digital multiple, F : digital photo frame, V : video edition, P : printed edition. http://numericart.free.fr +33 (0)1 47 95 22 54 – [email protected]
