Press  Release       Shimba  Technologies  improve  the  health  system  thanks  to  their  appliances     For  immediate  Release     Shimba  technologies  announce  their  new  product  for  smartphones,  MedAfrica:  An  app   that  enables  doctors  and  patients  to  communicate  and  follow  their  health  state  easily.   This  project  was  born  thanks  to  a  partnership  with  the  Kenyan  Government.     Nairobi  14th  February  2012     Shimba’s  first  aim  is  to  equip  hospitals,  clinics  and  health  centres  in  all  over  the  country:   big  cities,  small  towns  and  remote  areas.  MedAfrica  is  made  to  develop  basic  health  care   at  a  very  low  price.     It  enables  a  better  management  of  medicine  stocks,  following-­‐up  care  for  patients…  In   the  mean  time,  the  company  wants  to  equip  each  patient  and  its  family  to  inform  them   about  their  medical  state,  and  their  treatment.     It  would  be  very  useful  in  some  cases  like  HIV-­‐infected  people,  malaria,  tsetse  fly  disease   and  infant.  Africa  is  a  continent  with  low  sanitary  conditions  and  that  is  why  Shimba   made  many  efforts  to  put  in  place  this  system.                   ###         We  are  hoping  that  it  could  be  an  example  in  many  other  countries  and  if  you  are  willing   for  more  information,  please  contact:     John  Smith   +44  3246  5436  874   [email protected]           Cyrielle  IRSAPOULLE   Marie  CHENAIS   Lucile  LEMARECHAL   Willy  JOLY
