I HAVE THE V5 PRESENT WITH ME, VARIOUS BILLS, NEARLY 40 PHOTOS SHOWING THE RESTORATION IN ITS VARIOUS STAGES, THE CHASSIS PLATE READY TO GO ON VEHICLE COMES COMPLETE WITH PERSONAL PLATE "LUN 19" I HAVE COPIED BELOW THE DESCRIPTION HE HAS GIVEN ME OF THE VEHICLE: ASTON MARTIN DBS 6 AUTO I bought this car two years ago. It was described then as "All the hard work done and requiring finishing". The previous keeper had owned the car for 15 years and during that time had undertaken a comprehensive refurbishment, the photographic record of which goes with the car. In short, it was in a sorry condition when he bought it, he stripped back the car and found 6 different shades of red/orange before getting back to the metal! The underneath was rebuilt with new panels and metal where necessary. Steering, braking and suspension were overhauled. The car was resprayed with a very close match to the period Aston Martin metallic blue which seems to suit the car well. Both bumpers were replaced at a cost of over £1000 each. The car was reassembled and due to his personal circumstances, work came to a halt and I bought the car. I have stored the car with the intention of finishing the work as a retirement project. Owing to the present economic situation, my retirement has been put back and I doubt the funds will be available to complete the work. The registration number goes with the car and was valued at £2500 last year. LUN 19 or "LUN1 9" as the previous owner displayed it!! The car is complete with the exception of two chrome strips covering the air intakes in the front wings behind the front wheel arches. Sadly they have been mislaid. The driver's door handle mechanism is broken. I believe a MKII Cortina handle fits. I have not had the car running since I first bought it, and typically, it now steadfastly refuses to start. I therefore have to declare it as a non runner although I feel confident that a decent mechanic could sort this out and indeed finish the car to a high standard. I have seen many vehicles advertised as a "Reluctant sale" to describe tatty rubbish that people are desperate to rid themselves of This however is a genuinely reluctant sale. It took a long time to find and buy this car and i really don't want to see it go. These cars are rarely seen for sale and this is an excellent opportunity to own a genuine David Brown Aston Martin.
