OUTRE-RONDE 360 degrees panorama, interactive real time 3D, silence Anne-Sarah Le Meur 2001 – 2008 Documentation Tests recorded as a work in progress, ZKM, April 2008 Camera : Claudia Becker Tests and editing : Anne-Sarah Le Meur Acknowledgments : Pantheon-Sorbonne Paris 1 University

The aspect of colors in the documentation isn't faithful to what the viewer perceives during the interaction for several reasons : - We used a temporary light for the camera to take the viewer. This light projects a shadow on the screen, that doesn't belong to the final work. The screen becomes also more visible. During the experience of interaction in darkness, we don't perceive the screen, we only see the form. - The camera being less sensitive in darkness than the human eye, I modifyed the contrasts parameters of the form, for it to be taken by the camera. It flattens color variations. The form always seems blue (normal when one films in darkness); it is not the case in the normal experience. It seems also less « living », less « breathing ». - I retreated the image in post-production, because it was still too dark. The real experience happens in darkness, too difficult to record with the camera we had. - The rushes were taken in April 08, when the work was still in progress : some interactions have changed a little bit, others were not recorded. A wireless helmet exists for exhibitions. - The vertical mobile stroke stands for the gaze, useful for the tests. It will disappear in the final installation. - The form will be placed in the screen vertical center (for several days tests, I put it lower, for my eyes and neck not to be tired) The spectacle of the interactive viewer is interesting for the others only when he/she moves, when the colors change, or when the form is moving. In front-interaction, the viewer is almost still, the interactive relationship gives him a intense experience, impossible to represent on the image.
