Moulded Plastic Ex-Distributions in Modular Design

Description Ex-d moulded plastic distribution boards are mainly used for the protection of lighting, heating, motor and socket circuits in potentially hazardous areas. These distribution boards consist of flameproof encapsulated components and impact resistant enclosures made of polyester in the type of protection “Increased Safety”. The flameproof encapsulated components, such as MCBs, fuses etc., provide thermal and magnetic protection and can be snapped individually onto DIN rails. The system comprises three polyester enclosures in modular design that can easily be combined to form larger distributions using screwless coupling elements. The enclosures are flameretardant acc. to UL 94 VO. Clip-in gland plates made of polyester or brass allow enclosures and cable entries to be added as required. The distribution board system includes: • main switches up to 180 A • NH fuses up to 125 A • MCBs and RCDs up to 40 A • contactors up to 11 KW • over-current protection components up to 25 A, various relays and timers,

that make it possible to fulfil all customer specifications. The use of lockable flaps allows the easy actuation of the protective modules during operation without having to open the enclosure. Fuse and MCB distributions provide economical solutions and, at the same time, they fulfil all the requirements imposed by the chemical, petro-chemical and off-shore industries.

The enclosures are mounted on standardized wall-mounting or free-standing frameworks and can be combined to form large distributions. The frameworks have uniform fixing dimensions to match those of the enclosures and can be extended as required. If the distributions are installed in the open, it is advisable to use canopies for sun or rain protection. Small distributions are mounted on flat- or U-rails. The frameworks are all made of galvanized steel.

Combined with a screwless, clip-in mounting technique, the modular design principle provides an economical and clearly arranged method for assembling distribution boards. The enclosures and the main switch modules have uniform fixing dimensions and are joined together via flange openings in the enclosures.

With this screwless, clip-in system, both brass or moulded plastic gland plates can be fitted to the enclosures. This clip-in gland plate technique not only makes it possible for the user to fit cable entries to the gland plates in a quick and simple way, but it also provides him with an economical way to carry out any modifications or extensions.

The use of a bus bar system allows the quick and economical connection of the various circuits.

Clip-fit built-in components can be mounted in position quickly and safely, thus allowing the customer to exchange components in a rational way. Similarly, with this clip-in technique, expanding the circuitry does not pose any problems.

MCBs and RCDs can be actuated via flaps in the enclosure cover without opening the enclosure. The switch position of the protective modules can be seen easily from the outside through a large window. If required, the flaps can be locked using standard locking facilities. As many as 6 size 1, built-in components can be installed under one flap.

Description Distribution units made of stainless steel can be employed in hazardous areas for the connection of lighting, heating, motor and socket outlet power circuits. Stainless steel enclosures of V4A AISI 316 have a ground surface and are fitted with corrosion resistant stainless steel cover screws. They are highly resistant to chemical and mechanical stress and are particulary suited for use in hazardous locations in offshore areas, in chemical plants or under the extreme climatic conditions of the tropics, subtropics or arctic zone. The distribution boards accommodate flameproof components for the control and safeguarding of power circuits, such as contactors, fuses, thermostatic switches etc. Each element can be snapped onto DIN mounting rails. The system consists of modular boards in four sizes, that can be flanged together and combined into larger distribution systems. The following components are available to tailor boards to the individual needs of customers: ● Main switches up to 180 A ● NH fuses up to 125 A ● MCBs and RCDs up to 40 A, 1- to 4-pole ● Contactors up to 11 kW ● Overcurrent protective devices up to 25 A ● Various relays and time relays The protective modules can be easily accessed during operation through hinged flaps without opening the enclosure.

Description In order to be able to use apparatus that gives off arcs, such as MCBs, fuses, contactors, etc., in potentially hazardous areas, it is necessary to use EEx-d distributions. For this purpose CEAG supplies distribution systems consisting of flameproof aluminium enclosures and sheet steel Ex-e terminal boxes with a polyester powder coating that is resistant to both tropical and marine climates. The enclosures are available in seven different sizes. They can be combined according to requirements to form larger distributions and allow the use of built-in components up to 630 A and 690 V. To simplify the construction of large installations, bus bar systems up to 630 A are used. Distributions to suit customer specifications are engineered on an individual basis, taking the explosion protection into consideration. If required, explosion-protected signal lamps, indicating and control components are built into connection and bus bar boxes. Alternatively, these boxes can be supplied as separate terminal and control boxes. The explosion-protected metal distributions from CEAG fulfil all the requirements imposed by the chemical, petro-chemical and off-shore industries.

The enclosures are mounted on standardized wall-mounting or free standing frameworks and can be put together to form large distributions. The frameworks have uniform fixing dimensions to match those of the enclosures and can be extended as required. If the distributions are installed in the open, it is advisable to use canopies for sun or rain protection. Small distributions are mounted on flat or U-rails. The frameworks are all made of galvanized steel.

Ex-Distributions in Modular Design with Flameproof Light Alloy Enclosures and Sheet Steel Ex-e Connection Boxes

The modular design provides an economical and clearly arranged method of putting together distributions on the building block principle using connection and bus bar boxes in the type of protection “Increased Safety”. The flameproof, individual distribution enclosures are joined together via the flange openings of the Ex-e connection boxes and the bus bar boxes. It is also possible to put together distributions that are completely flameproof using flameproof cable entries.

The flameproof enclosures are also available as empty enclosures with and without Ex-e connection boxes, as well as with and without main switches, for equipping by the customer. Here it is necessary to bear in mind that, according to the national standards, a special inspection by an authorized expert must be carried out. In addition to this, if required, single or multi-wire bushings with connectors can be mounted on the distributions. Alternatively, these leads can be connected to a terminal rail.

Any conventional industrial switch gear that gives off arcs or sparks during operation can be built into these flameproof enclosures. The power dissipation must not exceed the values stated in the PTB certificate.

The various circuits can be connected quickly and economically via a bus bar system.

If required, individually encapsulated control and indicating units, such as pushbuttons, control switches or Ex-e measuring instruments, as well as Ex-i digital indicating instruments, can be built into the Ex-e connections or bus bar boxes.

Description In order to be able to use apparatus that produces sparks, arcs or temperatures rises, e.g. MCBs, fuses, etc. in hazardous areas, it is necessary to use Ex-d enclosures. CEAG offers a comprehensive range of metal enclosures for Gas Group IIB for use in Zone 1 and Zone 2 hazardous areas that fulfil the requirements of the European Standards EN 50014, EN 50018 and EN50019. The different enclosure sizes make it possible to build a variety of distribution installations with built-in electrical components. The design of the distributions and the built-in apparatus depends on the electrical requirements of the customer, whereby the components used comply with the specifications of the official certificates. Built-in electrical components Ex-d enclosures of the series EJB are suited for the installation of standard electrical switchgear that fulfils the technical requirements laid down in the relevant Certificates of Conformity for such apparatus.
