ALERT: A coveted robbery targeting the property of FDU – INKINGI Chairperson.

This Friday 24th September, 2010, while the party chairperson was visiting political detainees at the Kigali maximum prison known as "1930", unknown individuals robbed the telephones of Ms. Victoire INGABIRE UMUHOZA left in the car under the custody of the party Treasurer in what looks like a highly planned coveted operation. The treasurer, Ms. Alice MUHIRWA was lured into a talk with a trailing operative while the robbers ransacked the vehicle. They were after the telephones as they did not take anything else from the handbag. For the FDU treasurer, this operation is reminiscent of torture and endless blackmails endured during her July detention during the pre-electoral crackdown on opposition and dissents as well as subsequent summary execution threats targeting family members of the dissents. It is worthwhile to stress that this incident follows permanent patrols and of day and night marauding operatives around our home, and of impeding danger facing members of the FDU INKINGI executive and members of their families. The FDU INKINGI calls upon the government of Rwanda to stop these unabated attacks and harassments of opposition's members and ensure that their families are safe.
