I+D TOKI signs strategic alliance with Synera Systems Bilbao, May 2000 The Company Synera Systems was formed in 1998 by a group of professionals, one of them being Anton Torrents, who has extensive experience in the area of Information Technology. Since 1999 it is an international organization with offices in the United States, Latin America, and Europe. Presently it has two main headquarters, one dedicated to R&D in Barcelona and another dedicated to Sales in Denver, Colorado. Synera Systems is specialized in the development of Knowledge Management Software in the business environment. Since its creation it has invested 450 million pesetas in R&D for a software that is unique in the market. Recently, Synera Systems reached an investment agreement with a group headed by Granville Baird Capital Partner, who by way of the capital investment fund Tec Plus III, Catalana d’Iniciatives (New Technologies Division), and Caixa Catalunya (Invercartera), have invested 1,200 million pesetas in Synera Systems, with which the new investors will now control 28% of the company. This operation allows Synera Systems to confront their expansion plans, oriented mainly towards strengthening their R&D, Marketing, and Sales activities. Up to now Synera Systems had destined the main part of their resources towards the research and development of their software solution; a pioneer in the market.
