1. Download "InstallScanST303.zip" http://christian.giupponi.free.fr/HELP/SCAN_ST.HTM 2. Download "scanstbmp.zip" (e-mail Christian or request) 3. "Extract All" InstallScanST contains setup.exe and Support folder ScanSTBMP contains 3 (100x100 24-bit) BMP files 4. DO NOT RUN THE INSTALLER. (We will create a "Portable" installation instead.)

5. Move the "Support" folder onto the Desktop and rename it "ScanST 3.0.3" 6. Place the BMP files into the folder 7. DISABLE THE FOLLOWING FILES -- they do not work on Win 8.1 x64!! wininet.dll -> wininet.dll.old urlmon.dll -> urlmon.dll.old MSComm32.ocx -> MSComm32.ocx.old
8. Navigate to "C:\Windows" in Explorer and use search to find: Mscomm32.ocx Windows\SysWOW64 wininet.dll

9. Launch an Admin command prompt Swipe from the right side of the screen Type in "cmd" Right click "Command Prompt" Select "Run as administrator" 10. Navigate to the location in (8) e.g. "cd c:\Windows\SysWOW64" 11. Run the following to register the DLLs: regsvr32 urlmon.dll regsvr32 wininet.dll Regsvr32 MSComm32.ocx

12. Right click run ScanST as Administrator 13. Complete web update process. It will auto download the .CHM help file
