How it all Ends by Caroline SEVERAC, Hélène PEZOUS, Vanessa VILLENEUVE

After reading the short story by Eileen Amore "THE CLOCK STRIKES TWELVE" we thought we'd continue the story. The story so far: Julie Stuart, a little girl, has gone missing while she was being looked after by her baby- sitter 'Auntie Jean'. The baby-sitter suspects the mysterious kidnapper might be Mrs Stuart's former husband, a policeman who has just retired. She phones the police who tell her that he was planning to leave the country when he retired. "Yes, Miss. He has gone abroad to live. He’s been planning it for years. Said he was going to pick up his little girl first." "Please hurry up and come to Mr. and Mrs Stuart’s house!" She rang off. She was very tense because she didn’t know what she should do. A few minutes later, somebody knocked at the door. Auntie Jean was relieved. The policemen were here at last. While the others set about searching the whole house, Mr. John said: " May I ask you some questions about the kidnapping?" He came in.

A Real Nightmare by Sarah AUDFRAY On a lovely summer day, my friend Annabelle and I had decided to go to the swimming pool. I remember there were many people in the water. We were playing with a ball when I threw it at a large man who was about forty; I was only fourteen at the time. I didn’t feel comfortable, his reaction worried me. He turned and looked at me in a strange way, immediately I apologised to him. He smiled at me and replied it was all right. I was relieved. A few minutes later I made a few breaststrokes in the water when I felt lifted up from behind by someone, I turned round and I noticed it was the same man who had been hurt by the ball. My heartbeats quickened, I was afraid and I didn’t understand what he was doing. He started to drown me, then he lifted my head out of the water, I couldn’t breath, and he pressed me against him very strongly. I shouted at him to release me and to stop, but he continued. In the swimming pool, nobody noticed me, which was surprising as there were so many people, but they must have thought I knew him and he was simply teasing me. I didn’t know what to do. He asked me where my friend was, I replied that I didn’t know where she was. This answer didn’t have any effect on him because he pressed me more violently than before. Suddenly I saw Annabelle who was waving to me, calling me, he turned back and saw her, and he let me go and caught Annabelle instead. I went quickly out of the water to tell the story to the swimming-instructor. As soon as he saw me talking with the swimming-instructor, he let Annabelle go and she too came out of the water. Annabelle seemed less frightened than I did and she returned to the water and started playing again. I was so tired out that I wanted to go back home. I told Annabelle I wanted to leave the swimming pool and I left. My house was one mile from the swimming pool. I walked along the lonely dark street; the atmosphere was very worrying. I had been walking for about five minutes when I heard someone walking behind me. I had an unpleasant feeling. I didn’t dare turn back. I walked faster. I felt the person get nearer. I started to run but someone seized my arm. I screamed. I turned back and woke up with a start. It had all been a terrible nightmare.
