Safety Information When hunting from a treestand, falls can occur any time after leaving the ground causing injury or death. DO NOT use any Gorilla product until you have read and followed all safety warnings and instructions. Contact Gorilla customer service department at 1-877-685-7817 for any questions. Failure to do so could result in injury or death.
WARNING
This product is designed as a complete hunting system. The Full Body Harness is provided and intended to be used at all times from the moment you leave the ground until you return to the ground. The product is never intended to be used without the Full Body Harness. You MUST wear and use a Full Body Harness designed for both climbing and stationary use at all times after leaving the ground. The Full Body Harness is an integral part of this system. DO NOT use the product without using a Full Body Harness that meets or exceeds TMA (Treestand Manufacturer’s Association) standards and is certified by an independent testing laboratory. Failure to use a Full Body Harness that meets or exceeds TMA standards and is certified by an independent testing laboratory is a MISUSE of this system and is never intended by the manufacturer. Before each use, inspect your treestand and all safety devices for damage, rot, undue wear, deformity, corrosion, rust, cracks, freezing, excessive heat, cut or frayed webbing, and other damage to cables, strap or hardware, etc. DO NOT use product if wear, damage, deterioration, vandalism is detected or suspected. DO NOT use product if cable or dual claw tree strap expiration date has passed. DO NOT store a treestand outdoors when not in use. Always practice installing/detaching, adjusting and 3
using your treestand at ground level before using it at elevated positions. MAKE SURE YOU ARE WEARING YOUR SAFETY HARNESS AND YOUR HARNESSS IS CONNECTED TO THE TREE AT ALL TIMES AFTER LEAVING THE GROUND UNTIL YOU RETURN TO THE GROUND. WARNING
Single safety belts and chest harnesses are no longer allowed and are NOT to be used. If you are not wearing a Full Body Harness properly attached to the tree that is protecting you from a fall, DO NOT leave the ground. DO NOT jump, bounce, hop or rock back and forth on the treestand. DO NOT lean out or against the treestand. Always try to stay centered on the platform. Failure to follow these instructions can result in serious injury or death.
• Before each use, make sure all nuts, bolts, pins and straps are secure. • Use a treestand ONLY for its intended purpose of allowing a hunter to climb and hunt from an elevated position. DO NOT use a treestand for any other purpose. • Never exceed the maximum weight limit of the treestand. Model 47027 and Model 47030, maximum weight limit is 300 lbs. • DO NOT install or use product without adult supervision if you are under the age of 18. • Always inform someone about the hunting location, where the treestand will be located, and the expected duration of the hunt. • Always have a second adult present or at least accessible by cell phone or other means when using a treestand. The ability to get help quickly may save your life in the event of a fall. • Always take and use a signal device (cell phone, radio, whistle, signal flare or personal locating device (PLD)) when using this product. Always keep the signal device on you and readily available at all times. • A good non-slip boot is important for your safety. Be especially careful that bootlaces do not get hooked on the treestand or climbing aids (tuck shoelaces into boot before climbing). • Never use a treestand during inclement weather such as rain, lightning, windstorms or icy conditions. End your hunt and return to the ground if inclement conditions arise. • Never use a treestand while taking drugs (even prescription drugs) or alcohol. • Never use this product when feeling ill, nauseous, dizzy or if you have a 4
• prior medical condition that could cause a problem i.e., heart condition, joints that lock-up, spinal fusions, etc. or if you are not well rested or if you are not athletically fit. • Instructions (written and video) should be kept in a safe place and reviewed at least annually. It is the responsibility of the treestand owner to furnish complete instructions to any person who borrows or purchases this product. • Never leave a climbing treestand in a tree. Tree growth can also stress and damage a treestand. Always inspect an unattended treestand before using it. Factors such as tree growth, vandals, weather and animals may affect the performance of an unattended treestand. • Never modify your treestand in any way by making repairs, replacing parts, altering, adding or attaching anything to it except if explicitly authorized in writing by Gorilla, Inc. Failure to follow these instructions will void warranty and may result in serious injury or death. • Never use this treestand in a hunting environment before you have familiarized yourself with this treestand, all its features, safety devices and have practiced using it at ground level first.

Silence the Product This step is best conducted before you go into the woods to hunt. During production paint may get between the expanded grating and the platform frame. This can be a source of noise. To eliminate initial settling or creaking sounds, place the platform on a firm floor and stand/walk on it.

Select a Tree Select a healthy straight tree that is larger than 8-inches in diameter and smaller than 22-inches in diameter.
Improper tree selection can lead to falls. Never use this product on a dead, leaning, diseased, or loose barked tree, or on a utility pole or any other man made structure. WARNING
Never rely on a tree branch for support. Follow these instructions to select a proper tree. Failure to follow these instructions can lead to serious injury or death. Always inspect tree from all sides before installing this product. DO NOT use this product on trees larger than 22-inches or smaller than 8-inches in diameter. Any attempt to use a tree outside these dimensions may result in a fall. DO NOT use this product on trees that contain nails, screws and other sharp objects that may cut the webbing or cables on Gorilla products.
• Never use this product on leaning or irregular shaped trees that do not allow for a level treestand platform. • DO NOT select a tree with vines or limbs below your desired climbing height. 9
• Never attach a treestand to limbs. Always attach a treestand to the main trunk of the tree. • Never use a treestand on trees with icy, wet, slippery, loose or scaly bark. • Never hunt out of a treestand at heights at which you are not completely comfortable. Depending upon the tree and hunting conditions,choose the minimum height that allows for safe and effective hunting. Remember, the higher the height, the greater the risk. 4
Attach Platform Section to Tree
4.1
Prepare Platform Section At the base of the tree, remove the bungee cord that holds the platform section and seat section together (FIGURE 1). Unfold the pivoting arms on the seat section of the climbing treestand (FIGURE 2). FIGURE 1

Separate the platform section from the seat section so the platform section is below the seat section (FIGURE 3) and the tether is directly in line (not wrapped around either section) between the two sections (FIGURE 4). FIGURE 3

The platform section and seat section are attached with a tether. DO NOT remove this tether because it is used to keep the platform section attached to the seat section in the event the platform section detaches from your feet when ascending or descending the tree. DO NOT use the treestand if the tether is not secured to both the platform and seat sections, or if the tether is not adjusted to the recommended length (see Section 5.1). Detach the two D-ring snap pins from both of the adjustment arms (FIGURE 5). FIGURE 5
Remove one end of the tree cable assembly from either the left or right side adjustment arm (FIGURE 6) (use which ever side is most comfortable). On the other adjustment arm, line up the hole in the cable end with the midpoint hole (FIGURE 7). FIGURE 6

Insert the D-ring snap pin through the hole on the top of the adjustment arm and through the hole in the cable end (FIGURE 8 and FIGURE 9). 11

The spring portion of the pin must face the outside of the climbing treestand (FIGURE 10). Close the D-ring snap pin so the spring portion of the pin is locked into the groove on the pin (FIGURE 11). FIGURE 10

Position Place the teeth side of the platform section of the climbing treestand next to the tree so the platform section is approximately 12 to 24 inches off the ground (knee height) so that you can easily step onto the platform from the ground.

Attach Tree Cable Wrap the end of the detached tree cable around the tree. Slide the end of the tree cable into the adjustment arm with the hole facing up (FIGURE 12). FIGURE 12

Position the platform as shown in FIGURE 13 so that the front of the platform is slightly higher than the teeth contacting the tree. FIGURE 13
If you can not achieve the angle shown in FIGURE 13, return to step 4.1 and adjust the pin on the first adjustment arm to increase or decrease the tree cable length for tree size. Line up the hole in the cable end with the hole in the adjustment arm and insert the D-ring snap pin through the hole on the top of the adjustment arm and through the hole in the cable end (FIGURE 14 and FIGURE 15). The spring portion of the pin must face the outside of the climbing treestand (FIGURE 16). FIGURE 14

Attach Seat Section to Tree Place the seat section of the climbing treestand approximately 12-18 inches above the platform section of the climbing treestand (FIGURE 18). The seat section installs the same way using a cable assembly and two D-rings as the platform section. Repeat steps 4.1 through 4.4 on how to prepare platform section. When you have completed steps 4.1 through 4.4, the climbing treestand should look like FIGURE 19. FIGURE 18

5.1
Adjust Tether Connecting Seat Section to Platform Section The tether acts as an umbilical cord between the seat section and the platform section. If control of the platform were to be lost, the platform could fall the length of the tether. In order for you to regain control of the platform it is important that the tether length is adjusted properly. While the treestand is at ground level, enter treestand and position the climbing bar at mid-thigh height. Exit treestand and, while on the ground, adjust the length of the tether so that the climbing bar can be lifted to mid-thigh height above the platform (FIGURE 20).

Attach Padded Seat Section Place the padded seat inside of the top section of the climbing treestand with the support webbing facing toward the ground. Attach one webbing section to the support rail on the top section of the climbing treestand by first looping the webbing over the rail and feeding the webbing back through the buckle (FIGURE 21, FIGURE 22, FIGURE 23). Adjust the slider buckle for the appropriate padded seat height by pulling the webbing tight (FIGURE 24). Repeat steps for the remaining webbing sections. FIGURE 21

Adjust Angle of Platform and Seat Sections To hunt safely, the platform and seat sections MUST be level at your hunting height. Since most trees narrow as you climb up, the front of the platform section must be slightly tipped upward at the ground as shown in FIGURE 13. Too small of an upward angle at ground level can result in an unsafe downward platform angle at hunting height.
Fall hazard. Initial angle of platform and seat sections (climber) at ground level MUST allow for the decrease in tree diameter while ascending by tilting slightly upward. WARNING
Never climb or hunt with either platform section or seat section angled downward. If this occurs, return to ground and tighten tree cable to increase the upward angle. NEVER ADJUST THE ANGLE OF PLATFORM OR SEAT SECTIONS OR REMOVE D-RING SNAP PINS WHILE IN THE CLIMBING TREESTAND. ALL LEVELING ADJUSTMENTS OF PLATFORM AND SEAT SECTIONS MUST BE MADE AT GROUND LEVEL. Failure to follow these instructions can result in serious injury or death.
If the angle of your platform and seat sections is slightly tipped up as shown in FIGURE 13 and FIGURE 19, proceed to step 7. If not, the angle must be adjusted as follows. To increase the angle, tighten the tree cable by removing the D-ring snap pin, tightening the cable, and resecure the D-ring snap pin as described in step 4. This adjustment may be made on either adjustment arm. To decrease the angle, loosen the tree cable and resecure the D-ring snap pin. Obtaining the right ground angle depends on the tree you select and how much the tree diameter (size) changes between the ground and your desired hunting height. The key factor is that the platform MUST be level at your hunting height. With experience, you will learn how much ground angle is needed to achieve a level platform at your desired hunting height. 16

Use Full Body Harness Fall hazard.

You MUST wear and use a Full Body Harness designed for both climbing and stationary use at all times after leaving the ground. The Full Body Harness is an integral part of this system. DO NOT use the product without using a Full Body Harness that meets or exceeds TMA standards and is certified by an independent testing laboratory. Failure to use a Full Body Harness that meets or exceeds TMA standards and is certified by an independent testing laboratory is a MISUSE of this system and is never intended by the manufacturer. If you are unwilling, or can not, DO NOT use this product. You MUST stay connected to the tree at all times after leaving the ground while using climbing and hang-on treestands. Single safety belts and chest harnesses are no longer allowed and should NOT be used. If you are not wearing a Full Body Harness, that is protecting you from a fall, properly attached to the tree, DO NOT leave the ground. ALWAYS REMAIN CONNECTED TO TREE FROM THE MOMENT YOU LEAVE THE GROUND UNTIL YOU RETURN TO THE GROUND. Inspect all parts for wear or damage before each use. DO NOT leave the ground if you have a damaged or expired harness. Failure to follow these instructions can result in serious injury or death.
Refer to the full body harness booklet supplied with this climbing treestand for proper installation, usage and maintenance.
Read and understand all manufacturer’s safety warnings, expiration dates and instructions on how to use and properly adjust the Full Body Harness. THE REST OF THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THIS MANUAL ASSUME YOU ARE USING THE FULL BODY HARNESS SUPPLIED WITH THIS CLIMBING TREESTAND. 17
Once the climbing treestand is attached at ground level, use the full body harness according to the manufacturer’s instructions. To purchase an additional full body harness or to find out more information regarding full body harnesses, please contact the nearest Gorilla dealer or call Gorilla at 877-685-7817. 8
Double Check Fall hazard. An unsecured D-ring can result in a fall. WARNING
D-ring snap pins MUST be installed through top of adjustment arm and through tree cable. D-ring snap pin MUST be securely engaged. Always inspect before each use. Failure to follow these instructions can result in serious injury or death.
• A good non-slip boot is important for your safety. Be especially careful that bootlaces do not get hooked on the climbing treestand (tuck shoelaces into boot before climbing). • Before stepping on the platform, always double check to make sure all the D-ring snap pins are attached from the top of the adjustment arm and are locked in place with the spring portion of the pin secured in the groove on the pin. • Make sure that the D-ring snap pin has engaged the cable end of the tree cable. Apply downward pressure to the front of both the platform section and the seat section of the climbing treestand prior to climbing. If the D-ring snap pin is not engaged, the section will slip. • Check your full body harness again to ensure that it is properly attached to you and to the tree. Always remain connected to the tree. Never disconnect your full body harness from you or the tree after leaving the ground. • Make sure platform section and seat section are attached with the tether to prevent separation while in use. 9
Practice and Test Become familiar with the treestand design and features. Always practice installing, detaching, adjusting, and using your treestand at ground level prior to using in a hunting environment or at elevated positions. Also, practice at ground level in low light conditions as these conditions may exist while hunting. You should test the operation of your climbing treestand at ground level before hunting. Testing at ground level should occur at the first use of each season and after long periods of storage. 18
Once you become comfortable with installing/detaching, adjusting and using your treestand at ground level and understand all instructions and warnings regarding this treestand and the products required to use this treestand, now you are ready to use this treestand at heights above ground level. 10
Ascend (Climb Up) the Tree
10.1
Safety First Fall hazard. Make sure your climbing treestand is free from all moisture, mud, ice, snow or anything else that could make you slip during use. Keep both hands free for safe climbing and entering a treestand. Always use a hoist or pull-up rope to pull up a bow, backpack, firearm or other equipment only after being secured in the treestand and a firearm must be pulled up unloaded, chamber open and muzzle down. WARNING
Never jump or bounce on the climbing treestand to seat/dig it into the tree. DO NOT climb into or use a climbing treestand with another person. This product is designed for and intended for ONLY one person. DO NOT stand on the climbing treestand seat section. DO NOT jump, bounce, hop or rock back and forth on the climbing treestand. DO NOT lean out or against the climbing treestand. Always try to stay centered on the platform. Failure to follow these instructions can result in serious injury or death.

Attach Harness and Enter Stand Once the seat is attached, raise the seat section up about 4 feet above the platform so you will be able to safely step up onto the platform. Duck under the top seat section, attach your harness tether and treestrap above your head, according to the harness manual instructions, and step up on the platform section of the climbing treestand (FIGURE 25).

Adjust Harness Adjust the height of the harness’ tree strap on the tree according to the harness manufacturer’s instructions (FIGURE 26 and FIGURE 27). Stand up and note the height of the tree strap relative to your body (chest height, shoulder height, etc.). As you climb, you will need to move the tree strap higher on the tree and this will make the process easier. Always maintain the least amount of slack in the tether that will allow for climbing. Adjust Seat Height Adjust the top seat section height so that it is 2-3 feet above the platform (FIGURE 28).Slide the seat close to the tree. FIGURE 28

While ascending/descending, adjustments to harness attachment to tree (tether/tree strap) should be frequent and coordinated with treestand movement to maintain the least amount of slack in the tether that will allow for ascending/descending. 10.5
Strap Your Feet to the Platform While facing the tree, pull up on the foot strap tether and slide your feet into the looped foot straps (FIGURE 29). Note: you may need to loosen the looped foot strap webbing by adjusting the webbing through the steel buckle next to the left foot strap. FIGURE 29
Once both feet are in the looped foot straps, tighten the straps by pulling the webbing through the steel buckle (FIGURE 30). The foot strap webbing should be wrapped snug around the top part of your boot (FIGURE 31). Note: if the foot strap webbing is loose, repeat this step. FIGURE 30

Bungee Your Ankles to the Foot Strap Wrap the attached bungee strap around the back of your ankles (FIGURE 32). Hook the rubber coated hook on the foot strap webbing on the left side of the left foot strap (FIGURE 33 and FIGURE 34). This bungee strap is used to keep your feet in the foot straps. FIGURE 32

Begin to Ascend (Climb Up) With the full body harness properly adjusted, sit on the climbing bar on the top seat section as shown in FIGURE 35. FIGURE 35

Sit on the climbing bar and with your feet, tip the platform section forward (FIGURE 36) and lift up the platform section by lifting up your legs approximately 8-12 inches. Level the platform section by rotating your ankles so the platform teeth dig back into the tree (FIGURE 37). Never jump or bounce on treestand to seat/dig it into to the tree. FIGURE 37 Tether

Adjust Harness’ Tree Strap and Raise Top Seat Section Raise the harness’ tree strap higher up the tree according to the harness manufacturer’s instructions (FIGURE 38). The tree strap should be positioned at the standing height you noted in step 10.4 so that it is properly positioned when you are sitting. Always maintain the least amount of slack in tether that will allow for climbing. FIGURE 38

Lift up the top seat section (FIGURE 39) until the tether connecting the seat section to the platform becomes tight. See section 5.1 for proper tether length. Sit down on the climbing bar on the top seat section (FIGURE 40) so you can lift the platform section with your legs again as in step 10.7. 23

Fall hazard. Never climb or hunt with a climbing treestand with front of platform or seat leaning/tilted down from tree. If this occurs, climb down the tree and, while standing on the ground, tighten tree cables on climbing treestand to increase upward angle of climbing treestand. NEVER ADJUST THE CLIMBING TREESTAND ANGLE OR REMOVE THE D-RING SNAP PINS WHILE IN THE TREESTAND! All adjustments MUST be made at ground level. Make sure treestand is free from all moisture, mud, ice, snow or anything else that could make you slip using treestand. Always use a hoist or pull-up rope to pull up a bow, backpack, firearm or other equipment ONLY after being secured in the treestand and a firearm MUST be pulled up unloaded, chamber open and muzzle down. DO NOT climb into or use a treestand with another person. This product is designed for and intended for ONLY one person. DO NOT jump, bounce, hop or rock back and forth on the treestand. DO NOT lean out or against the treestand. DO NOT stand on the treestand seat section. Always try to stay centered on the platform. Failure to follow these instructions can result in serious injury or death.
Continue repeating steps 10.7 and 10.8 to slowly climb up the tree, moving approximately 12 inches at a time, until the platform section becomes level or until you reach your desired hunting height (approximately 15 feet for most hunting).
If the platform or seat becomes level before reaching your desired hunting height, climb down the tree to the ground level, exit treestand and increase the angle of the platform and seat section at the ground level as described in step 4.4.

Secure Platform at Hunting Height Once you reach your desired hunting height with the platform section, locate the platform sections retainer straps on both of the pivoting adjustment arms (FIGURE 41 and FIGURE 42). FIGURE 41

Secure Seat Adjust the seat section of the climbing treestand so it will be at a comfortable sitting height (about knee height).
• Sit on the back padded bar so the teeth bite into the tree. • Never jump or bounce on padded bar to seat/dig teeth into the tree. Locate the climbing treestand retainer strap on the pivoting adjustment arms on the seat section and wrap the retainer straps around the front of the tree and hook it to the pivoting adjustment arm using the hook and cam buckle by following step 10.11.

Make Final Adjustments to Harness’ Tree Strap for Hunting Once the seat section is secure, stand up on the platform and raise the tree strap up so it is at the harness manufacturer’s recommended height (FIGURE 51). Secure the tree strap to the tree following manufacturer’s instructions. FIGURE 51

Double Check Turn away from the tree and sit down in the seat. Adjust the harness tether height as necessary to make sure the harness tether does not have any slack in it (FIGURE 52). If the tether has slack, raise the tree strap higher in the tree so the tether has no slack in it when sitting. 27
Now you are ready to safely pull up your hunting gear and begin hunting.

12.1
Detach from Tree Once you reach ground level, detach your full body harness from the tree and step off the platform section onto the ground. Stand next to the climbing treestand and place the retainer straps inside the elastic bands to hold them in place. Detach the top SEAT section by removing one D-ring snap pin and the tree cable from the top seat section. Detach the PLATFORM section by removing one D-ring snap pin and the tree cable from the platform section. Place the climbing treestand on the ground next to the tree.

Rendre le produit silencieux Il est préférable d’effectuer cette étape avant d’aller chasser dans les bois. Durant la fabrication de la peinture peut s’infiltrer entre le grillage étendu et le châssis de la plateforme. Ceci peut être une source de bruit. Afin d’éliminer les sons initiaux de tassement ou de craquement, déballez le mirador ascensionnel. Placez la plateforme sur un sol ferme et montez/marchez dessus.

Sélection d’un arbre Choisissez un arbre droit, en santé, qui a un diamètre de plus de 8 pouces et de moins de 22 pouces. Toute sélection inadéquate d’arbre peut entraîner des chutes. N’utilisez jamais ce produit sur un arbre mort, malade, penché ou dont l’écorce ne tient pas, ni sur un pilône ou toute autre structure créée par l’homme. Attachez toujours le mirador ascensionnel au tronc principal de l’arbre. 10
• N’utilisez jamais ce mirador ascensionnel sur des arbres ayant une écorce glacée, humide, glissante, lâche ou qui pèle. • Ne chassez jamais sur des miradors ascensionnels à des hauteurs où vous n’êtes pas vraiment confortable. Selon l’arbre et les conditions de chasse, choisissez la hauteur minimale permettant de chasser de façon sécuritaire et efficace. Rappelez-vous que plus vous êtes haut, plus le risque est grand. 4
Fixation de la plateforme sur l’arbre
4.1
Déballage À la base de l’arbre, enlevez la corde élastique qui retient ensemble la section de la plateforme et la section du siège comme montré dans la FIGURE 1. Dépliez les bras pivotants sur la section du siège du mirador ascensionnel comme montré dans la FIGURE 2. FIGURE 1

Séparez la section de la plateforme de la section du siège de façon que la section de la plateforme soit en dessous de la section du siège comme montré dans la FIGURE 3 et que le cordon soit directement en ligne (pas enroulé autour d’une ou l’autre section) entre les deux sections comme montré dans la FIGURE 4. Les parties plateforme et siège du mirador sont fixées à l’aide d’une longe. N’ENLEVEZ PAS cette longe, car elle est utilisée pour garder la partie plateforme reliée à la partie siège au cas ou la plateforme se détache de vos pieds lorsque vous montez dans l’arbre ou en descendez. N’UTILISEZ PAS le mirador si la longe n’est pas fixée à la fois à la partie plateforme et à la partie siège ou si la longe n’est pas réglée à la longueur suggérée (voir section 5,1). Détachez les deux goupilles à pression des anneaux en D des deux bras d’ajustement comme montré dans la FIGURE 5. FIGURE 5

5.1
Régler la longe reliant la partie siège à la partie plateforme La longe agit comme cordon ombilical entre la partie siège et la partie plateforme. Si vous perdiez le contrôle de la plateforme, celle-ci pourrait tomber sur une distance correspondant à la longueur de la longe. Pour que vous repreniez le contrôle de la plateforme, il est important que la longueur de la longe soit bien réglée. Lorsque le mirador est au niveau du sol, accédez au mirador et placez la barre pour grimper à la hauteur de votre mi-cuisse. Sortez du mirador et, au niveau du sol, réglez la longueur de la longe afin que la barre pour grimper puisse être soulevée à hauteur de la mi-cuisse au-dessus de la plateforme (ILLUSTRATION 20).

Fixation de la section du siège rembourré Placez le siège rembourré à l’intérieur de la section supérieure du grimpeur avec la toile de soutien dirigée vers le sol. Attachez une section de la toile sur la rampe de soutien sur la section supérieure du grimpeur en faisant premièrement une boucle par-dessus la rampe et en enfilant la toile de nouveau à travers la boucle comme montré dans la FIGURE 21, la FIGURE 22 et la FIGURE 23. Ajustez la boucle coulissante pour une hauteur appropriée du siège rembourré en tirant la toile de façon serrée comme montré dans la FIGURE 24. Répétez pour les sections restantes de la toile. Ajuster l’angle de la plateforme et de la section du siège Pour chasser sécuritairement, la plateforme et la section du siège doivent être de niveau à votre hauteur de chasse. Comme la plupart des arbres deviennent étroits lorsque vous grimpez, l’avant de la section de la plateforme doit être légèrement incliné vers le haut au sol comme montré dans la FIGURE 13. Un angle montant trop petit au niveau du sol peut résulter en un angle de la plateforme dangereusement incliné vers le bas à la hauteur de chasse.
Risque de chute. L’angle initial de la plateforme/grimpeur au niveau du sol doit prévoir la diminution du diamètre de l’arbre lors de l’ascension en s’inclinant légèrement vers le haut. Ne grimpez ou ne chassez jamais avec l’avant d’un mirador ascensionnel possédant un angle vers le bas. Si cela se produit, retournez au sol et serrez le câble de l’arbre sur le grimpeur pour augmenter l’angle vers le haut du mirador ascensionnel. N’AJUSTEZ JAMAIS L’ANGLE DU MIRADOR ASCENSIONNEL ET N’ENLEVEZ JAMAIS LES GOUPILLES À PRESSION AVEC ANNEAU EN D LORSQUE VOUS ÊTES DANS LE MIRADOR ASCENSIONNEL! TOUS LES AJUSTEMENTS DE NIVEAU DE LA PLATEFORME/DU GRIMPEUR DOIVENT ÊTRE FAITS AU NIVEAU DU SOL. Le fait de ne pas respecter ces instructions peut entraîner de graves blessures, voire la mort. Si l’angle de votre plateforme et de la section du siège est légèrement relevé, comme montré dans la FIGURE 13 et FIGURE 19, passez à l’étape 6. Sinon, l’angle doit être ajusté comme suit. Pour augmenter l’angle, serrez le câble de l’arbre en enlevant la goupille à pression avec anneau en D, en tendant le câble et en réinsérant la goupille à pression avec anneau en D comme décrit dans l’étape 3. Cet ajustement peut être fait sur un ou l’autre des bras d’ajustement. Pour diminuer l’angle, desserrez le câble de l’arbre et réinsérez la goupille à pression avec anneau en D. L’obtention du bon angle par rapport au sol dépend de l’arbre que vous choisissez et de combien le diamètre (dimension) de l’arbre change entre le sol et votre hauteur désirée de chasse. Le facteur clé est que la plateforme doit être de niveau à la hauteur où vous chassez. 17
Avec l’expérience, vous allez apprendre quel est l’angle requis au sol pour obtenir une plateforme de niveau à votre hauteur désirée de chasse.
Utilisation 7
Utilisation du baudrier complet Risque de chute. Ce produit est conçu comme un système complet de chasse. Le baudrier complet est fourni et prévu pour être utilisé en tout temps, à partir du moment où vous quittez le sol jusqu’à ce que vous soyez de retour au sol. Ce produit n’est pas prévu pour être utilisé sans le baudrier complet. Vous DEVEZ porter et utiliser un baudrier complet conçu à la fois pour grimper et demeurer immobile en tout temps après avoir quitté le sol. Le baudrier complet est une partie intégrante de ce système. N’UTILISEZ PAS le produit sans utiliser un baudrier complet qui est conforme ou dépasse les normes TMA (Treestand Manufacturer’s Association) et qui est certifié par un laboratoire d’essai indépendant. Ne pas utiliser un baudrier complet qui est conforme ou dépasse les normes TMA et qui est certifié par un laboratoire d’essai indépendant est une MAUVAISE UTILISATION de ce système et n’est pas prévu par le manufacturier. Si vous ne voulez pas ou ne pouvez pas, N’UTILISEZ PAS ce produit. Vous DEVEZ demeurer relié à l’arbre en tout temps après avoir quitté le sol lorsque vous utilisez des miradors grimpants ou suspendus. Les ceintures de sécurité simples et les baudriers de poitrine ne sont plus permis et ne devraient PAS être utilisés. Si vous ne portez pas un baudrier complet qui vous protège lors d’une chute et qui est bien fixé à un arbre, NE QUITTEZ PAS le sol. DEMEUREZ TOUJOURS ATTACHÉ À L’ARBRE À PARTIR DU MOMENT OÙ VOUS QUITTEZ LE SOL JUSQU’AU MOMENT OÙ VOUS REVENEZ AU SOL. INSPECTEZ toutes les pièces pour l’usure et les dommages avant chaque utilisation. N’utilisez pas un baudrier endommagé ou dont la date est périmée. Le fait de ne pas respecter ces instructions peut entraîner de graves blessures, voire la mort. Référez-vous au manuel du baudrier complet de sécurité pour mirador ascensionnel fourni avec ce mirador ascensionnel pour une installation, une utilisation et un entretien adéquats. 18
Vous DEVEZ utiliser un baudrier complet avec ce mirador à escalader. Si vous êtes réticent ou ne pouvez pas utiliser un baudrier complet pour mirador à escalader, N’UTILISEZ pas ce produit. Vérifiez à nouveau Risque de chute. Un anneau en D non bloqué peut occasionner une chute. La goupille à pression avec anneau en D doit être installée à travers le haut du bras d’ajustement. La goupille à pression avec anneau en D DOIT être solidement engagée. Vérifiez toujours avant chaque utilisation. Soyez tout spécialement prudent que les lacets de vos bottes ne s’accrochent au mirador ascensionnel (glissez les lacets dans les bottes avant de grimper). • Avant de monter sur la plateforme, revérifiez toujours à nouveau pour vous assurer que toutes les goupilles à pression avec anneau en D soient attachées sur le dessus du bras d’ajustement et bloquées en place avec la portion ressort de la goupille solidement dans la rainure de la goupille. • Assurez-vous que la goupille avec anneau en D a bien pénétré dans l’extrémité du câble pour arbre. Appliquez une pression vers le bas à la fois sur l’avant de la partie plateforme et de la partie siège du mirador grimpant avant de grimper. Si la goupille avec anneau en D n’est pas bien en place, cette partie glissera. • Vérifiez à nouveau votre baudrier complet de style mirador ascensionnel pour vous assurer qu’il soit correctement attaché sur vous et sur l’arbre. Demeurez toujours attaché à l’arbre. Ne détachez jamais votre baudrier complet de style mirador ascensionnel. • Assurez-vous que la section de la plateforme et de la section de sièges sont 19
• attachées au moyen de la longe afin de prévenir une séparation en cours d’utilisation. 9
Pratiquer et vérifier Familiarisez-vous avec le design et les caractéristiques de votre mirador. Pratiquez-vous toujours au sol à monter, détacher, régler et utiliser votre mirador avant de l’utiliser dans des situations de chasse ou en hauteur. Pratiquez-vous aussi au sol à utiliser votre baudrier en condition de pénombre, car vous pourriez avoir à faire face à une telle condition en situation de chasse Vous devriez vérifier le fonctionnement de votre mirador grimpant au niveau du sol avant de chasser. Une vérification au niveau du sol devrait avoir lieu la première fois que vous utilisez le produit en début de saison et après une longue période de remisage. Lorsque vous pouvez confortablement fixer, détacher, régler et utiliser votre mirador au niveau du sol et que vous comprenez bien toutes les instructions et les mises en garde concernant ce mirador et les produits nécessaires pour l’utiliser, vous êtes prêt à utiliser ce mirador en hauteur dans une position au-dessus du sol.

Ascension (grimper) dans l’arbre
10.1
La sécurité en premier Risque de chute. Assurez-vous que votre mirador ascensionnel est libre de toute humidité, boue, glace, neige ou de toutes autres choses qui pourraient vous faire glisser durant l’utilisation. Gardez vos deux mains libres pour grimper et entrez sur un mirador de façon sécuritaire. Utilisez un monte-charge ou une corde de remontée pour monter un arc, un sac à dos, une arme à feu ou tout autre équipement seulement après que vous soyez bien attaché dans le mirador, et une arme à feu doit être déchargée, la chambre ouverte et la bouche dirigée vers le sol avant sa remontée. Ne jamais sauter ou rebondir sur le mirador ascensionnel pour l’asseoir sur l’arbre. Ne pas monter dans un mirador ascensionnel ou utiliser celui-ci avec une autre personne. Ce produit est conçu et destiné pour seulement une personne. Ne pas monter sur la section du siège du mirador ascensionnel. 20
NE PAS sauter, bondir, sautiller ou faire balancer le mirador. NE PAS se pencher à l’extérieur du mirador ou contre celui-ci. Essayez de toujours demeurer au centre de la plateforme. Le fait de ne pas respecter ces instructions peut entraîner de graves blessures, voire la mort. 10.2
Fixer le baudrier et accéder au mirador Une fois que le siège est fixé en place, relevez la partie du siège environ 4 pieds au-dessus de la plateforme afin que vous soyez capable de monter sur la plateforme de façon sécuritaire. Penchez-vous sous la partie supérieure du siège, fixez votre longe de baudrier et votre courroie pour arbre au-dessus de votre tête selon les instructions du manuel accompagnant le baudrier et montez sur la partie plateforme du mirador grimpant (ILLUSTRATION 25). Régler le baudrier Réglez la hauteur de la courroie pour arbre du baudrier sur l’arbre selon les instructions du manufacturier du baudrier (ILLUSTRATION 26 et ILLUSTRATION 27). Placez-vous debout et notez la hauteur de la courroie pour arbre en rapport avec votre corps (hauteur de poitrine, hauteur d’épaule, etc.) En grimpant, vous devrez placer la courroie pour arbre plus haut sur l’arbre et cela rendra la démarche plus facile. Ajustez la hauteur du siège Ajustez la hauteur de la section supérieure du siège de façon qu’elle soit à 0,6 – 0,9 mètres (2’-3’) au-dessus de la plateforme comme montré dans la FIGURE 28. Glissez le siège près de l’arbre

Pendant que vous grimpez/descendez, les ajustements pour attachez le raccord sur l’arbre (cordon/courroie d’arbre) devraient être fréquents et coordonnés avec les déplacements du mirador pour conserver le cordon le moins lâche que possible tout en vous permettant de grimper/descendre. 10.5
Attachez vos pieds sur la plateforme En faisant face à l’arbre, tirez le cordon de la courroie du pied vers le haut et glissez vos pieds dans les courroies bouclées des pieds comme montré dans la FIGURE 29. Remarque: vous pourrez avoir à desserrer la toile bouclée de la courroie du pied en ajustant la toile à travers la boucle en acier près de la courroie du pied gauche. FIGURE 29

Une fois que vos deux pieds sont dans les courroies en boucles pour pieds, serrez les courroies en tirant les sangles dans les boucles en métal (ILLUSTRATION 30). Tous les réglages doivent être faits au niveau du sol. Assurez-vous que votre mirador est libre d’humidité, de boue, de glace, de neige ou de tout autre chose qui pourrait vous faire glisser lorsque vous utilisez le mirador. Utilisez toujours un appareil de levage ou une corde pour soulever un arc, un sac à dos, une arme à feu ou une autre pièce d’équipement SEULEMENT après être en sécurité dans le mirador et une arme à feu DOIT être soulevée déchargée, la culasse ouverte et la bouche du canon vers le bas. NE GRIMPEZ PAS dans un mirador et N’UTILISEZ PAS un mirador en compagnie d’une autre personne. Ce produit a été conçu pour une SEULE personne et convient à une SEULE personne. NE SAUTEZ PAS, ne faites pas de bonds, ne vous balancez pas sur un mirador. Ne vous PENCHEZ PAS vers l’avant du mirador ou contre le mirador. NE vous METTEZ PAS debout sur la partie siège du mirador. Essayez toujours de demeurer au centre de la plateforme. Ne pas suivre ces instructions peut avoir comme conséquence des blessures graves ou la mort. Continuez de répéter les étapes 10.7 et10.8 afin de grimper lentement dans l’arbre, en vous déplaçant d’environ 30 cm (12”) à la fois, jusqu’à ce que la section de la plateforme soit de niveau ou qu’elle atteigne votre hauteur désirée de chasse (environ 4,6 m (15’) pour la plupart des chasses).
Si la plateforme est de niveau en dessous de votre hauteur désirée de chasse, descendez de l’arbre jusqu’au niveau du sol, sortez du mirador et augmentez l’angle du mirador et de la section du siège au niveau du sol comme décrit dans 10.11
Fixer la plateforme à la hauteur désirée pour la chasse Une fois que vous avez atteint, à l’aide de la partie plateforme, la hauteur désirée pour la chasse, trouvez les sangles de retenue de la partie plateforme sur chacun des bras de réglage pivotants (ILLUSTRATION 41 et ILLUSTRATION 42). Fixez le siège • Assoyez-vous sur la barre arrière rembourrée de façon que les dents mordent dans l’arbre. • Ne sautez ou ne rebondissez jamais sur la barre rembourrée pour enfoncer les dents dans l’arbre. Localisez les courroies de retenue du grimpeur sur les bras pivotants d’ajustement sur la section du siège et enroulez les courroies de retenue du grimpeur autour de l’avant de l’arbre et accrochez-les sur le bras d’ajustement pivotant en utilisant le crochet en J et la boucle à came en suivant l’étape 10.11. Serrez la courroie sur l’avant de l’arbre en tirant l’extrémité libre de la courroie à travers la boucle à came comme montré dans la FIGURE 50. FIGURE 50

Effectuez les ajustements finaux au baudrier complet avec l’arbre d’où vous chasserez Lorsque la section du siège est bien attachée, levez-vous debout sur la plateforme et soulevez la courroie de l’arbre vers le haut de façon qu’elle soit à la hauteur recommandée par le fabricant de baudrier comme montré dans la FIGURE 51. Attachez la courroie d’arbre selon les instructions du fabricant. FIGURE 51

REMARQUE IMPORTANTE: lorsqu’il est correctement attaché, votre baudrier complet de mirador ascensionnel devrait avoir la courroie du cordon sous tension quand vous êtes assis.

Deuxième vérification Retournez-vous dans le sens opposé à l’arbre et assoyez-vous sur le siège. Réglez la hauteur de la longe du baudrier selon vos besoins afin de vous assurer qu’il n’y a pas de mou dans la longe du baudrier (ILLUSTRATION 52). Si la longe n’est pas tendue, relevez la courroie pour arbre plus haut sur l’arbre afin qu’il n’y ait pas de mou dans la longe lorsque vous êtes assis. FIGURE 53

Démontage de l’arbre Une fois au niveau du sol, détachez le baudrier complet de l’arbre et descendez de la section de la plateforme. Tenez-vous debout près du mirador ascensionnel et mettez les courroies de retenue à l’intérieur des bandes élastiques pour les retenir en place. Détachez la section supérieure du SIÈGE en enlevant une goupille à pression avec anneau en D et le câble de l’arbre de la section supérieure du siège. Détachez la section de la PLATEFORME en enlevant une goupille à pression avec anneau en D et le câble de l’arbre de la section de la plateforme. Déposez le grimpeur sur le sol près de l’arbre.

Positionnez la section supérieure du siège Placez la section supérieure du siège près de l’arbre avec les dents en position vers le haut et avec les bras pivotants d’ajustement plus près de vous. Ouvrez les bras pivotants d’ajustement de façon qu’ils se prolongent plus loin que le châssis de la section supérieure du siège comme montré dans la FIGURE 53. FIGURE 53

Remplacez les câbles, la courroie pour arbre et le siège aux trois ans ou plus tôt si vous y remarquez des signes d’usure, de dommage, de rouille, de détérioration ou de vandalisme. Remplacez SEULEMENT par des pièces Gorilla. Une inspection et un entretien adéquats sont requis pour ce produit Gorilla. Ne modifiez pas ce produit Gorilla. N’enlevez pas quelque collant ou étiquette d’avertissement de sécurité que ce soit. Le fait de ne pas respecter ces instructions peut entraîner de graves blessures, voire la mort. Entreposage N’entreposez pas ce produit à l’extérieur. Le mirador doit être entreposé dans un environnement propre, sec, à l’abri des rayons directs du soleil, de la poussière, de la chaleur excessive et de produits chimiques nocifs. L’exposition au soleil, à la chaleur excessive et aux éléments climatiques va affaiblir les composantes après un certain temps.
