INSTRUCTIONS
1. Completed application forms must be submitted to a third party Freeport developer.
2. The annual licence fee of MUR 10,000 must be paid at the time of issue of the Freeport licence.
3. The Freeport licence shall be valid for a period of 12 months as from the date of approval.
4. A penalty fee of Rs 5,000 is applicable at the due date of the Freeport licence. 5. The following documents should accompany the application form : a) Certificate of Incorporation, if already available. b) Certificate of registration, in the case of international companies, if already available. c) Business background of each Director/Promoter of the company.

The Freeport license allows the operator to carry out any of the above Freeport activities. However, a detailed feasibility study should be presented and the prior consent of the authority required, in case the operator decides to carry out activities 3, 4, 5, 6, 7. The following information should be included in the feasibility study:
(1) Detailed description of the processing /assembly. (2) Inputs / components to be utilised in the processing. (3) Description of machinery and equipment to be used including technical specifications and brochures.

Detailed project cost including capital investment in machinery and equipment. Percentage of value addition through the processing / assembly. Layout of the factory space. Number of employees. Other technical details such as maximum voltage to be used, consumption of water, electrical power requirements, conformity to health and safety standards.
