MAY : THE SEASON FOR GASTRONOMIC WALKS IN THE VINES…

PRESS : THE 15TH MAY, CHÂTEAU DE LA LIQUIÈRE BOTTLED “NOS RACINES” 2006. THE CUVÉE WAS MARKED IN THE CATEGORY OF THE WINES BETWEEN 17.5 AND 20/20 IN L A REVUE DU VIN DE FRANCE SPECIAL EDITION OF THE 2006 VINTAGES.

Every year in May, many wineries organise « gastronomic walks » where people can appreciate fine wines and gourmet food but also the beauty of nature... At the beginning of May Domaine de la Rectorie organised a walk through the vines of Banyuls and Collioure. 7 tasting stops took place during this walk where people could drink wine paired to specific dishes cooked by local Chefs. If you missed the one of La Rectorie and if you are coming to France very soon, Domaine de l’Arjolle and le Château de Margon also organise a « gastronomic day » in the gardens of the Château de Margon on June 7th. You will also appreciate the wines and delicious dishes made by some chefs of the region. (For more information go to : www.arjolle.com )

Dominated by the Pic de la Coquillade at an altitude of 720 metres, AOC Faugères is a veritable natural balcony, situated in the foothills of the Cevennes. This is a harsh, rocky terroir, where schist rules. Situated in the Northwest part of the appellation's zone of production, the vineyard is planted on steep slopes ranging from 150 to 350 metres in altitude (picture). It is exposed to a Mediterranean climate and wind blowing alternatively from different directions (Tramontane and Marin). The wines come from handpicked harvests, from a harmonious blend of different grape varieties and from the knowledge of the passionate team of the Vidal and Dumoulin families since 1700. They try to give to their wines the richest expression of the terroir.
