SXM – SDH access module
SXM – SDH Access Module SXM-4/4 port E1/SDH Multiplexer
The Ericsson SXM-4 SDH Multiplexer defines a new level of simplicity for SDH multiplexers. Packaged in a sturdy stackable design, it offers true plug-andplay installation. In fact, a simple point-to-point configuration is automatically operational out-ofthe box as soon as fibre and power are connected.
In Metropolitan Area and Campus Networks – operated by utilities, local governments, industrial complexes and educational institutions – the Ericsson SXM-4 offers a simpler alternative for distribution of carrier services, interconnection of PBX equipment, and integration of process-control devices. With true plug-and-play simplicity, the Ericsson SXM-4 offers SDHclass robustness without the traditional complexity and cost.
Ericsson SXM-4 An easy to handle 4 port E1/SDH Multiplexer
Compliance with the ITU-T G.707 and ETSI 300147 SDH standards enable interoperability with existing SDH Add/Drop Multiplexers (ADM) and Digital Cross-connect Systems (DCS). Each E1 can be individually mapped into any desired SDH TU-12 (VC-12) path. Ericsson SXM-4 provides a cost-effective low capacity access device for high capacity SDH networks, making it possible to extend the SDH infrastructure to medium sized business customers.
Ericsson SXM-4 offers a range of management options that make it easy to integrate into virtually any management environment. For stand-alone point-to-point applications, the SXM-4 may be managed simply through LED’s and switches. An intuitive serial Command Line Interface provides a cost-effective, yet powerful management tool for both local and remote management. The non-volatile memory provides for easy software upgrades. The integrated SNMP agent offers interoperability with virtually any SNMP based management station.
