Training Program You can take a BTS in Design and Manufacturing in Micro-Mechatronics with the following diplomas:  Bac STI Génie mécanique  Bac STI Génie électronique (éventuellement Génie Electrotechnique)  Bac S  Bac STI2D  Bac Pro Microtechnique ou Bac Pro Productique . A good level in technical subjects as well as in Maths and Applied Sciences is necessary to succeed. You also need to be highly motivated to meet with all the personal work required.

Tehnical and Scientific Programs Designing Step

Micro-Mechatronics system combine various technologies in a miniature space : mechanics, electronics, opticsn communication … We can find them in very diverse hightech scctors such as general use electronics, robotics, medical imaging Developing a new product is to go from an idea and sketch to a working prototype and then to create the high-scale production processes. The BTS in Design and Manufacturing in Micro-Mechatronics enables you to acquire these skills.

Following specifiations, a technician looks for relevant technical solutions, calculates the characteristics of various components and designs each piece of the product on 3D CAD sofwares. These digital drafts also tak into account the constraints linked to the materials and the production processes of the pieces. Not only do they allow to calculate the intern efforts in all the use cases, but also to simulate the manufaturing of the pieces. Electronicis CAD softwares are also used.

Preparation Step It consists in:  Choosing the means of production  Designing the required tools (moulds, …)  Organising the productiob and assembly processes An essential step in the life circle of an industrial product, it takes into account technical, environmental and economical constraints. It requires a strong knowledge of the means of production.

Realisation Step It consists in realising prototypes in order to validate the product before starting the large-scale production. Diverse techniques are used:  Fast prototyping on 3D printers  High-speed machining on numérical control machines Prototyping also includes electronic circuits, enabling to check the proper functioning of the product.
