Dear friends, We hope you are rested and refreshed after the summer. We are grateful that my parents treated us to a Dallas visit, just for vacation this time! We had a great time relaxing with family and were able to celebrate with my parents and their friends their fiftieth wedding anniversary!! Yannick has signed up for fall classes in his theology correspondence courses with Strasbourg, and had his first trip to the Paris office to get up-to-date on his fall responsibilities, in particular the budgets for the different ministries of CCC France. This year he also has new responsibilities tied to the different legal entities of CCC France. In Rennes, we had our staff beach get-together to catch up on the summer news before getting back to work…

Now our biggest preoccupation and prayer request is for our big project Move the City, Monday October 27 to Sunday November 2, 2014. We are excited to have five churches as well as InterVarsity working with us on this project which aims to gather 60 young people from Rennes and around France. The program includes morning worship, prayer, teaching, training and preparation for the young people participating in the camp. In the afternoon there are activities to serve the city of Rennes, by working especially with migrants, young people and in nursing homes. In the evening, the young people will join the churches which are proposing different types of outreaches, such as cafe debates, concerts, skits, conferences, an art expo, and taking meals to homeless people. A highlight will be a big outreach/celebration kind of like a fair on Saturday afternoon. Organizationally, the pastors meet together regularly to make decisions and give direction to the committees : committees for Morning, Afternoon, Evening, Logistics, Communication, and Prayer. Each committee is composed of a few CCC staff as well as representatives from the different churches. Yannick is in the Morning committee, and I in the Logistics.

Family News It's a big year for us. Nathanaël is starting the first year of Preschool, just mornings. Gabrielle is skipping a class into sixth grade which is the first year of Jr High here. Zacharie is in ninth grade, the last year of Jr High. They all like their teachers and are making new friends. We had the joy August 24 of having Yannick's family with us for Gabrielle's baptism. She drew a picture and wrote a text, which she read, expressing what her baptism meant to her. She chose Psalm 23 for the subject of the pastor's sermon We pray that this step will help her grow in her relationship with God. We also had with us for the celebration our dear neighbors and learned on the way that the man has never attended church in his life, but said he was glad to do it for us! They seemed to be touched by the service and we pray we would have more opportunities to talk about our faith with them, and that God would draw them to Himself.

I am ready for anything with God. I love Him a lot because He forgives all my sins. If one day something horrible happens to me, I won't accuse Him. And even if I pass through the dark valley, I will fear no evil, Lord, because you are with me (Psalm 23:4). Lord, I will follow You eternally because I believe in you. We appreciate your prayers and faithfulness at our side!
