Scientific stays and collaborations • From October 10th till November 2nd 2007 : Scientific stay at the Foundation for Research and Technology - HELLAS (FORTH) in the Institute of Applied and Computational Mathematics in Crete (Greece). Research object : modelling non-Newtonian effects on the blood recirculations downstream the atherosclerotic plaque and comparison with the Newtonian effects in a realistic geometry of a stenosed carotid taken from the MRI imaging. This research work was conducted with the collaboration of Yannis Papaharilaou, researcher at FORTH. • Collaboration with Prof. John McGregor’s team at the King’s College in London, England. The study of the bloodplaque interaction was the object of a visit, discussion and presentation at the King’s College by the end of May 2008.

Long duration internships before PhD thesis – M.Sc. internship at the TIMC-IMAG (CNRS) laboratory at Grenoble, FRANCE. Internship object : "Modelling of the cell membrane deformation. Application to the filopods formation". This internship was under the direction of Prof. Jean-Louis Martiel, we have developed a mathematical model describing the filopods formation on the neurone, the base of the nervous system. – M.Sc. internship (first year) at the Mathematics Laboratory of the Université de Savoie, FRANCE under the direction of Prof. Christian Lécot. Studying the Monte Carlo (MC) methods for the numerical integration. Comparing the MC methods with the determinist methods. "Simulation, under Maple environment, of the Markov chains using the Monte Carlo methods".
