CANopen Vendor ID Each device compliant to CiA DS 301 (Version 4.01 and higher) CANopen application layer has to implement the worldwide unique Vendor ID in the object 1018h assigned by CiA. This Vendor ID is a numeric value of type UNSIGNED32 and will consist of a unique number for each registered company and optionally for each department of that company (but only if required). If you chose to add a department name, please pick a specific name, i.e. “Germany”, “Medical”, etc. Names like “Development” or “Manufacturing” may not be accepted due to their broad range within the company. 31
