ear parents, welcome to MS class (Middle Section class) This is our class...

Kitchen corner / Toys – cars and dolls

Who we are in the class: Nisha, Souad and Martin We concentrate on developing and strengthening what is good in your child. We teach the children the proper use of things, that show your child where to take them from and how and where to put them back (same place) We are ever ready to answer the call of your child. We always listen and respond to your child. We respect the child who makes a mistake without correction being made directly, but we correct firmly and immediately. we always treat you child with good manners. We respect the child who takes a rest or wishes to be alone or watches others working. But we do encourage your child to work in groups. We never speak ill of your child in his presence or in his absence. We respect each and every child in our class. The children will not work individually at first. Independence is something which is given gradually as class is ready for it. It is important that the children know the time-table. When they will do the activity, when they will have their snacks, lunch, park and when their mothers are coming to fetch them. We work in groups. We do three activities at the same time. And children switch from one group to the other. Each activity is 15 - 20 minutes. That means your child is learning three different activities. For example - Mathematics (counting & number games / language (phonetic sounds) / and writing (writing (numbers or free drawing)

Our classroom and furniture:

We have 14 children in the class. Seven girls & seven boys. The furniture in the class is adapted to the child’s height. And it is movable and very light enough for your child to move. The tables and chairs are painted in cream and blue, most of the other furniture is white and blue. All furniture is suitable for washing. After each single activity we clean the class, specially the tables, chairs and the floor. Also, we have pencils, crayons, paper, picture books, lego, toys and bricks. We arrange them attractively around the classroom. Our play area:

Geometrical Figures – Visual and muscular knowledge of geometrical forms. Awareness of observation of forms in the environment. Co-ordination of movement. A foundation for the later study of geometry. Indirect preparation for writing (curves and straight lines) this is a similar activity to the ones which compose the letters of the alphabet.

Music – with Nadine & Martin

The study of music at a young age increases the quality of the child’s early life experience. Music can sooth, stimulate or entertain children. It provides

C’est ainsi que pourrait également s’appeler notre « Petite Ecole » ! pleasure, joy and an outlet for creative expression; it helps develop listening and auditory discrimination skills; it contributes to motor skill development (both large muscle and small muscle); and it increases the range of flexibility of the voice. Music can sooth emotions; invite enthusiasm and bring immense pleasure to the listener.

There are many ways for parents to feel a part of our class. For example, the parent meeting, observations and conferences are just the beginning. Every parent can be as involved as he or she wants to be, and we welcome your participation.

Mr Germain

And I will get back to you with more information soon! Thank you

Trip to England - Ashburnham (Gareth & Nisha) E

very year the school organises a trip to England and this year

Children have many different types of learning activities. But the school trips are

From Japan to Siberia – Maxime CM2 Japan has a population of 127 million people and in Tokyo around 37million people live. For a small country like Japan, it is too populated. I think the smaller cities around Tokyo should become a part of it. The other cities of Japan should limit growth and the country should focus growth on Tokyo. To do this Tokyo will need tall buildings for the people to live in. Then there will be more space for nature in Japan. Each person in Japan should plant a tree in a reserve, for nature to live. In the created forest there could be little villages with about 500 people: there would be little houses and farms with cows, hores, pigs and other animals. But if people really want to reduce the population of Japan, they could move to another country like in Europe, America, or maybe even Siberia! Because in Siberia there are only 38 million people, which is not a lot for an area of 13.1 million square kilometers.

Miracle in Kabul - Egor CE1 In the capital of Afghanistan, in the streets of one of the biggest wars there was, for the first time in 12 years, a music festival. All the citizens of the big capital went to see this little, but good festival. Everyone was feeling good: no war, no explosions. Citizens said:

On school trips children can take risks they wouldn’t be able to in the classroom.

We believe that the school trips are an opportunity to build relationships to share, to laugh to build confidence and learn together.
