Amine KOUIDER Amine Kouider was born on august 28, 1967 in Algiers, Algeria, he studied classical music (solfege, violin and piano) at the Algiers National Conservatory of Music and graduated in 1984 (solfege) 1985 (violin) - 1986 (chamber music) - 1987 (violin soloist) honour price of Algiers City. From 1986 to 1990 he studied at the Algiers High Normal School of Musicology in Classical music and in Arabic music, he studies also (oud) Arabic luth, Arabic singing and Arabic composition. He got a licence degree in musicology in 1990. From 1990 to 1993 he carried on his training in France, Marseille National Conservatory and Paris National Conservatory. He graduated in 1993 (violin, choir and orchestra conducting). At the same time he was studying musicology in Paris Sorbonne University. After that he improved with famous maestros as Michel Tabachnik in Denmark (at the Royal Copenhagen Conservatory), with Manuel Rosenthal in Paris, Ilia Musin in Saint- Petersburg, Daniel Barenboim in Berlin and Valery Gergiev in Rotterdam. From 1988 to 1993 he participated to many master classes with “Jeunesses Musicales” in Hamburg, Music Academy of Mediterranean Orchestra in Aix-en Provence (France) with Paris National opera house, Paris Radio Orchestra, Rome Radio Orchestra, Tonhal Zurich Orchestra, Geneva Symphony Orchestra and Berlin State Opera. In 1998 for 3 seasons he was Valery GERGIEV’S conductor assistant in KIROV Orchestra in SaintPetersburg, Baden Baden Festival, Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra and in New York Philharmonic Orchestra. Amine Kouider was the first Arabic conductor who conducts a concert and an opera in the famous Marinsky Theatre (Saint-Petersburg opera house) with the KIROV Choir and Orchestra. These previous years, he conducted several orchestras in France and abroad, among others, Marseille Philharmonic Orchestra, Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra, Toulon Opera House Orchestra, Mulhouse Symphonic Orchestra, Nice Philharmonic Orchestra, Strasbourg Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Toulouse National Orchestra. He conducted too the Bucharest National Opera Orchestra, Cairo Symphonic Orchestra, Durban Symphonic Orchestra, Rotterdam Festival Orchestra, Capella Orchestra of Saint-Petersburg, the Symphonic Orchestra of the Saint-Petersburg Philharmonic Society, the Saint-Petersburg State Orchestra and recently the Kirov Orchestra an the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra. He was also invited to festivals such: Tanger (Morocco), Beit-Edine (Lebanon), El Jem (Tunisia), Algiers (Algeria), Cairo (Egypt), Corse, Arles, Marseille, Paris (France), Amsterdam (Holland), Valence (Spain), Castel Gondolfo (Vatican) for a private concert for the Pope Jean-Paul II and in Monte-Carlo Palace an private concert for the Prince Albert I.

French Artistic and Managing Experiences In 1994 Amine Kouider Created the International Philharmonic Choir and Orchestra in residence in UNESCO (Paris) with the goal of promoting the message of peace, the culture diversity and intercultural dialogue between Orient and Occident. Accompanied by this musical ensemble he has performed in many occasion in UNESCO such concert to celebrate 50th anniversary of the end of the second world war, concerts for peace in the Unesco’s program “culture and peace” concert “Homage to JF KENNEDY”, humanity concert as part of the “world day of the fight against AIDS”, concerts in the program of “cultures dialogues. In 1999 he was designated UNESCO Artist for Peace.

He is appointed for 1998 until 2004 musical director of the International Paris Orchestra (under the administrative supervision of culture department of French education ministry and foreign ministry) this orchestra was constituted by international professional musicians. He developed a large music pedagogic program in collaboration with many famous teachers from these music academies; he also introduced the concept of “Educative Concert” for students in many universities and realized a big Culture Plan. He was also a coordinator between department of administration, logistic, financial, music and communication.

Algerian Artistic and Managing Experiences: In October 2001, Amine Kouider was at the origin of the reopening of the Algiers opera house. He was its artistic director until 2005. He realized several operas productions namely in partnerships with French theatres. In the same time he created the Algiers Philharmonic Orchestra with which he conducted many concerts with cooperation of embassies from France, Italy, Russia, Germany, Argentina, South Africa, and Austria within the framework of the European Musical Festival in Algiers. In 2003 and as part of “Cultural Season of Algeria in France” he is appointed Managing Director of the Music Department for this event. He realized a big programme for this season and he managed much different aspects of this demonstration (administration, financial, logistic) in coordination with many French culture institutions. He was also invited to perform in many Algerian official Galas such: Opening of the UNDP (United Nations Development Programme) summit, Opening of the OPEC (Organisation of The Petroleum Exporting Countries) summit, Visit of Mister President of South Africa. In 2005 he was invited to perform a gala for the opening of the Arabic Summit in the presence of the 22 Arabic heads of state. In 2007 and as part of “Algiers Capital of Arabic Culture 2007” Madam the minister of culture entrusted Amine Kouider the Artistic Direction of the National Symphonic Orchestra for several concerts and the recording the first CD of the orchestra and also solicits him for the realisation of the Big Show of fence of this demonstration that he calls “Algerian Symphony for Peace” with the cooperation of 250 artists.

Music Professor Experiences Amine Kouider is a music professor for 20 years and he is very interested by the different musical pedagogic technics. In 1988 he was engaged as music professor (violin and solfege) to the Algiers Conservatory. He participated in the first meeting of Mediterranean conservatories in Marseille (France) and he met a prestigious professors. In 1990 he was musicology professor to the Algiers High Normal School. In 1992 he was a singing teacher at the Algerian Cultural Center in Paris and he developed the learning of Arabic songs in occidental way. In 1994 he was engaged as music professor (violin, solfege, and choir conducting) at the Champigny sur Marne Conservatory (15 km from Paris-France) position he occupies to this day. In this academy he participated recently in the elaboration of a new modern pedagogic program for solfege and a new project of academy validated by the culture ministry. He took part in many pedagogic formations such: “Musical writing by the computing, “Music teaching in group”, “Games: pedagogic way for the learning and apprenticeship of the music”.

He also worked in the program “musical awakening of the child” in workshops of sensitization of children to the instruments and to the music. In 2004 Amine Kouider was undertaken as consultant at the Music School of the Algerian Republican Guard, he reorganised the individual music teaching, the music library, the instrumental park and he elaborated a specific pedagogic program. He also created and managed the first department of string instruments in the Republican Guard, he renew their military musical repertory including Arabic music. By the way, he realised several educative concerts for children where they discovered different Arabic and occidental instruments within the same orchestra and learned the basics of music theory in an interactive. A bout 400 children was in the hall each concerts. Named by madam the minister of culture, Amine Kouider was the Director of the Algerian High Music Institute from 2007 to 2008. He elaborated, with the academic director in the ministry, a pedagogic plan adapted to the cultural reality of an Arab country in order to revive the teaching music in Algeria. Currently Amine Kouider is the Music Director of the International Philharmonic Choir and Orchestra in UNESCO and he is regularly invited to conduct different orchestras. He is also Music Professor at the Champigny Sur Marne Academy and an Artistic consultant and coordinator in UNESCO for Arabia Plan. OTHERS: He took part in Radio (he has done a radio show: Symphoniet). He has composed the music for an Algerian film and for a French documentary. He worked on the design of the opera festival of send (Algeria desert). He was President of board of Algerian Star Music Academy.
