Service Settings

Altherma Service Settings • There are several service codes that can be altered to maximise the efficiency of the Altherma system. Each site is potentially different so these settings should be reviewed on an individual basis. The settings can influence various aspects of the control of the Altherma system ranging from end user permission level of the controller to the time period the air source heat pump is allowed to operate and the control of the electrical heaters. We recommend that these settings are considered from initial commissioning – failure to do so may result in the system operating inefficiently and potentially consuming too much energy. • The following information explains the purpose of each service code and how to make these alterations using the Altherma controller. 2

Remote Controller - Entering The Field Set Codes 1 Press the button for a minimum of 5 seconds to enter FIELD SET MODE.

3

Remote Controller Field Settings - User Permission Level There are 3 permission levels on the Altherma controller. Level 1 being full control and Level 3 being the lowest level of control access. You can switch between Level 1 and either Level 2 or 3. Level 1 is factory standard – Full control

4

Remote Controller Field Settings - User Permission Level There are three possible remote controller button restrictions

2 will restrict 3 will restrict If any of these buttons are pushed then not available is displayed as shown here. To activate or deactivate these settings you need to input the permission level code you require (default is 3)Push and hold buttons Then whilst holding these buttons in you will then need to push buttons and for five seconds. There will be no visible display change on the controller but try pushing the button once then not available will be displayed if you are in either permission level 2 or 3. 5

-1-00 Low ambient temperature (Lo_A): low outdoor temperature. -1-01 High ambient temperature (Hi_A): high outdoor temperature. -1-02 Set point at low ambient temperature (Lo_Ti): the target outgoing water temperature when the outdoor temperature equals or drops below the low ambient temperature (Lo_A). -1-03 Set point at high ambient temperature (Hi_Ti): the target outgoing water temperature when the outdoor temperature equals or rises above the high ambient temperature (Hi_A). 6

Remote Controller Field Settings Weather Dependent Set Point / Heating Compensation Weather dependent set point calculates the space heating set point temperature based on the outdoor temperature. However, the user can set a "shift value". This shift value is the temperature difference between the temperature set point calculated by the controller and the real set point, this can be done by pushing the temperature up and down buttons whilst in the normal screen with the weather dependant set point activated.

General Overview Field Settings - Solar Setting

Simultaneous water heating by the sun and water heating by the heat pump is not possible Default setting C-00-0,Heatpump priority for domestic hot water over solar. This means that, whenever there is a request of the domestic hot water thermostat and domestic water heating is enabled (by the schedule timer or domestic water heating ON/OFF button, heating will be done by the heat pump. In case of solar heating in operation, solar heating will be stopped. This is to avoid shortage of domestic hot water in case the solar radiation is very weak, or solar radiation only became high shortly before domestic hot water demand is expected (e.g. on a cloudy day) Setting C-00-1, when solar heat becomes available, domestic water heating by the heat pump will be (if in operation) interrupted and taken over by the sun
