FREENESS TESTER Canadian Freeness (CF/A) Schopper-Riegler (SR/P) These instruments are used worldwide to determine the rate of drainage of a diluted pulp suspension. The rate of drainage is related to the work done on the fibre during beating or refining. Refining of pulps is one of the most important stages in the paper production process and influences strongly the sheet forming and its physical properties. Canadian Freeness Tester (CF/A) : This instrument consists of a drainage chamber and measuring funnel. The drainage chamber is equipped with a calibrated screenplate. The funnel has two orifices at a specified distance apart. The orifice at the base of the funnel maintains a standard rate of discharge. The excess of water is captured and measured with the measuring cylinder which equals the freeness value. The CF/A features rugged supporting structure for easy table mount including accurate bull-eye level and leveling feet for correct installation, nickel plated bronze drainage chamber, funnel, spreader cone and sealing cone and is delivered with two graduated certified measuring cups. The CF/A is supplied with two Paprican certified screen plates for the drainage chamber; one for regular use and one for reference control. A calibration certificate for the equipment is also supplied.

This instrument is principally the same as the CF/A, but the used pulp samples have a lower concentration. The scale is reversed in comparison with the amount of water collected. The SR also features iron cast base including accurate bulleye level and leveling feet for correct installation, stainless steel structure and nickel plated bronze drainage chamber, funnel, spreader cone and sealing cone, plexiglass safeguard and handle for drainage chamber. A calibration certificate for the equipment is also supplied as well as one extra standard spare wire screen and set of tools for exchanging it.
