ADVANTAGES

DESIGN NOTES Wolverine’s most problematic power is his Healing Factor, of course. If the assumption in M&M3 is that heroes recover from wounds quickly--on the order of minutes--then Wolverine’s power doesn’t really make him all that special. He’d definitely not have to worry about lasting injuries, but it really doesn’t make much of a difference given the default recovery rate. I dropped his Regeneration down to 5 ranks, because Wolverine doesn’t always shrug off damage--he gets staggered a bit then bounces back. The other streamline is his Berserker Rage. His mind becomes closed to mental effects. Limited to Half Effect is a little clumsy, and I would almost prefer Limited to Three Quarters Effect for -2. I was also tempted to slip in 5 more ranks of Regeneration into Berserker Rage, not to reflect a boost to his Healing Factor, but more that Wolverine tends to shrug off damage more readily when raging. Let me know what the ATT community thinks. I returned an Advantage from 2E that I left off originally: Wolverine has Beginner’s Luck, not because he’s a newbie, but because it represents his vast number of experiences and tendency to “remember” a long-forgotten skill.

All-Out Attack, Animal Empathy, Beginner’s Luck, Close Attack, Diehard, Great Endurance, Improved Critical (claws), Improved Initiative, Languages 4 (Cheyenne, Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Lakota, Russian, Spanish; base: English), Power Attack, Ranged Attack 3, Startle, Takedown 2, Tracking

SKILLS Acrobatics 6 (+11), Athletics 8 (+13), Close Combat: Claws 2 (+15), Expertise: Streetwise 4 (+6), Intimidation 16 (+17), Perception 12 (+19), Ranged Combat: Guns 2 (+8), Stealth 8 (+13), Vehicles 6 (+9)

POWER POINTS Abilities 84 + Powers 37 + Advantages 19 + Skills 32 + Defenses 12 = Total 184

COMPLICATIONS Nemesis: Sabretooth. Prejudice: Mutant. Temper: When Wolverine uses Berserker Rage, he may attack enemy and friend alike. Weakness: Adamantium skeleton is susceptible to magnetic effects.
