[Windows Movie Maker] Replace the sound track of a video

You have a video and you want to replace the soundtrack with one of your creation for any personal reasons : Make l use the Windows Movie Maker (it comes with Windows, if this is not the case you can download it here: Windows Movie Maker). We will proceed in four steps: 

1 - Import Video



2 - Remove the sound of the video



3 - Create / Add new audio track



4 - Save Video

Import Video First, run Windows Movie Maker. Generally, it is found in Start Menu / All Programs / Accessories but it depends on your version of Windows.



Start by importing the video. To do this, click on "Import Media" (or directly on the tab "Video").

Now the video is present in the imported media.



We will drag in the track "Video."

Remove the sound of the video



We will open the "Video" to show the audio track.



Now do a right click in the audio track of the video and select the "Mute".

Create / Add new audio track To record your voice if you want to insert in the video, you can use: 

The recorder software of Windows (usually it is in Start Menu / All Programs / Accessories)



Or an audio editing software like Audacity.



You save the result in either mp3 or WMA, for Windows Movie Maker compatibility.

Just as you opened the video, you will open the new audio track.



Once the files are imported, it will drag in the audio track but this time not of the video, but below ( "Audio / Music").



Just click on "Publish to" This Computer "

Save video

After “Publish to this computer” this window opens: 

We must name the video, then choose a location to save it.



Then we click on "Next".

A new window opens: 

It is advisable to select "Best quality for playback on my computer."



Finally, it is "Publish" and the video will be registered.



The creation of the video is more or less time depending on the size of the video and the power of your PC.
