USB 2.0 TV Tuner Reference Design

Featuring the CX23416 MPEG Encoder and CX25843 Audio/Video Decoder Delivering compressed video and audio over USB 2.0 using Conexant’s low-cost, low-power CX23416 and CX25843 Conexant’s broadband communications portfolio includes a comprehensive suite of semiconductor solutions that enable the digital home and information network. The USB 2.0 TV tuner reference design demonstrates the capabilities of the CX25843, the newest audio and video mixed signal decoder, and the industry-leading CX23416 MPEG encoder. This reference design is representative of the many USB applications for which the CX25840/1/2/3 and CX23416 can be used, ranging from time-shifted television recording to video conferencing, video editing, and security/ surveillance. This device set is fully functional and leverages a very high level of system-on-chip integration in combination with powerful software and middleware solutions to provide advanced system performance. In addition, the drivers are Windows Hardware Quality Lab (WHQL) compliant and meet USB Implementor's Forum (IF) and Microsoft Media Center
