Dear friends, Yannick is just back from a week with the Paris summer project. The campus ministry is currently trying to reinforce the Paris team with more staff and expand the ministry in this important city. To help with that, the team there organized a project for French staff end of June. They spent a lot of time going to meet students who are quite numerous even during vacation time. Yannick had deep and interesting discussions with several, including a young Jewish couple who accepted a New Testament to read the life of Jesus. Pray also for a girl who introduced herself as atheist but later said she believed there is someone up there but does not understand Him. Yannick was able to explain the Gospel to her. Pray also for future discussions between two

friends he met: a Protestant very sure of himself, who did not believe in God (!), and a timid Catholic who in the end got the courage to avow his faith.

TRANSITIONS We want to share with you some exciting news. After 17 years for me and 13 years for Yannick, it is time for us to transition from the campus ministry. Five years ago when our leaders asked us to take leadership for the campus, we were alone and starting a year basically from scratch. Today the ministry is doing well, there are four full-time staff and and a part-time, and the relationships with our colleagues and other Christian groups are strong. Yannick likes the idea of leaving at a time like this. Also, at this point in our family life, we don't enjoy as much the late nights on campus. It's a good time for Yannick to renew his ministry and use his gifts even better for the Gospel. More than a year ago, we began discussions with CCC France's HR director, Janette Brown, who has done inventories of our gifts and experiences, and talked about the best working environment for us. We greatly appreciate her prayerful attitude, and taking time to arrive at a decision. In September we will begin a new position within CCC with several parts.

1) For about a third of his time, Yannick will begin a degree in theology by correspondence with Strasbourg

Protestant Seminary. He will study at home and go there three times a year for orientation and intensive language courses to begin Greek and Hebrew, and exams. 2) Yannick's second part will be national administrative projects, assisting the administrative and financial directors, Janette Brown and Claude Billard. For instance, he will help review and update the Staff HR Handbook, oversee a new staff person with her support-raising, and help with the creation and compilation of the budgets for the different departments. He will also go to the Paris office two days a month.

3) The last section is working with the local ministry. In part, we will both continue the training for new staff and interns (in collaboration with our colleague Rick), which we have greatly enjoyed these last years. Melissa just finished her two-year training, but our Czech intern Tereza will be in her second year, and the campus ministry is receiving a new staff woman, Halle, who will begin her two-year training. Yannick will continue doing theology and administrative modules, and I will continue on personal development modules and meeting individually with the women. In addition, we will both continue and develop our involvement with our colleagues in Rennes (campus and other branches). For example, in the past, we have done the MLK exhibit, the Magdalena film showings, the Christmas women's breakfast and most recently the “Awakening of the Senses” outreach with the vine photo exhibit taken from John 15. I will be able to be more active in the activities specifically for women, and develop more of my natural contacts with moms and families we meet. Overall, this means we will target working more with people our age and in our natural sphere of influence instead of students.

PRAYER REQUESTS ➢

Please pray for a smooth transition to our new job description. Pray for Yannick's registration and intensive language course in Strasbourg September 6-10 and for his adaptation to doing studies again. Pray for Dan as he takes over leadership of the campus team. Praise the Lord for the new Rennes office, the funds raised by our national director to purchase and renovate this beautiful space in a great location. Please pray for the organization of two inaugurations, one September 26 to develop our contacts with pastors and Christians in the area, and another September 28, to present ourselves to those in the office complex, the neighborhood, and city officials. For these events, Yannick is working with two colleagues to create a dozen large posters describing the many facets of CCC's ministries. We pray these events would have a great impact for the Gospel, and that the office could be used for His glory. Please pray for great relaxation and family time with a visit from my parents during the month of August, and for safety in travels.

We are so grateful to have you with us in this new adventure in our ministry in France and grateful for your heart to reach the French with us. In our next letter, we'll share some of favorite memories with you.
