To be continued. In February, few believed in Saab. Now, only a few months later, a number of investors have knocked on the factory gates. No wonder. After all, there are a number of things in our favour. We have experience and knowledge in abundance. In several areas we’re among the best in the world. We tamed the turbo, were among the first with eco-cars, and have a number of new models on the way.The Saab 9-3X goes on sale soon. The new Saab 9-5 and Saab 9-4X are just around the corner, filled with state-of-the-art technology. We continue to develop cars that are safe,

fuel efficient and less harmful to the environment. And we plan to concentrate operations in Trollhättan, Sweden, where we have one of the world’s most efficient car plants. We realise that the road ahead is long and rocky. But a more independent Saab will be leaner and more energetic, faster to react, and better equipped to face the future. Because there isn’t any doubt: Even if things are rough right now, it is the start of something exciting. The start of the new Saab. Follow what happens at saab.com/newsroom

It’s not the first time that we’ve rolled Saab back onto the right track. More than once during his career, Swedish rally driver Erik Carlsson pushed his Saab so hard that the car rolled over. Fortunately, thanks to the rounded roof, it wasn’t hard to turn the car back on its wheels. The Saab could then finish the race, often in first place, and Erik came to be known as “Carlsson on the roof”. Today, almost 50 years later, many are saying that Saab is again in dire straits. But, even though the crisis in the car industry is sure to continue, things are not so bleak. We’ve already come a long way in developing and building safe, economical cars that are fuel efficient and less harmful to the environment. You can see evidence of this in the concept cars we’ve displayed at the major auto shows: Cars that run on 100%

bioethanol, hybrids powered by both bioethanol and electricity from lithium-ion batteries, and cars with solar cells. We recently launched the Saab 9-3X, which feels at home in all kinds of road conditions thanks to XWD, cross-wheel drive. Soon the new Saab 9-5 will be introduced. Later on you’ll meet a smaller Saab and the Saab 9-4X crossover. Now, with several investors having knocked on our door, we’ve gladly reminded them of how it was when “Carlsson on the roof” rolled over. People ran to help him. Together they turned the car over so he could continue. You see, they knew something then that’s just as true today: Never rule out Saab. To be continued at saab.com/newsroom

Horsepower can only take you so far. When doomsday prophets bellow and certain newspapers use their very darkest headlines, you suddenly realise what’s important. You recognise that there seems to be some kind of special power in and around Trollhättan that makes Saab unique. People here live and breathe Saab. Many have worked with us for generations. They’re independent, unbending and stubborn. Freethinkers with a will of their own. They see opportunities where many see nothing at all, and find solutions when others have long since given up. Saab is full of these people. They formed our history and they shape our future. They were the ones who slept on the factory floor to safeguard the quality of

each and every car. They were the ones who isolated themselves in a barn and tamed the turbo. They were the ones who spent nights thinking at the kitchen table, weekends tinkering at amateur rallies, and bit by bit developed the four-wheel-drive system that now appears in Saab after Saab. Now they’re focusing on ultra-light materials, electrification of the turbo, better aerodynamics, and much more that will make the Saabs of tomorrow safer, more exciting to drive and kinder to the environment. Because this is the start of something special. This is the start of the new Saab. To be continued at saab.com/newsroom
