Animals deserve a higher place in modern society. 7. Science is the most important academic subject. 8. Foreign players should not be allowed to play in British teams. 9. Voting is a waste of time and effort. 10. Today’s fashion industry should be dismantled piece by piece. 11. Life’s what you make it. 12. Eastenders is better than Coronation Street. 13. Living forever would be a wonderful thing. 14. Health clubs/leisure centres/ supermarkets/DIY stores/pubs/ nightclubs/cinemas are more important than churches. 15. It’s good to talk.

STEP FOUR Now add detail to each one - real life examples, statistics, stories of personal experience. STEP FIVE Write your speech up into a fluent essay form, including an introduction and conclusion. STEP SIX Copy your speech into note form on a piece of paper, or on small cards. STEP SEVEN Practise delivering your speech using only your notes.
