Demontera underdelen pa kapan. Palia upp MC:n sa att bakhjulet hanger fritt. 3 Plocka bort sadel och sidopaneler. 4 Demontera staget som fôrbinder de bada Ijuddamparna. Demontera vanster Ijuddampare. 5 Lossa och demontera nedre stôtdamparskruven , demontera ocksa lanken genom att demontera skruven vid raminfastningen och vid draglanken. 6 Lossa original gasbehallaren, oyre stotdamparskruven och plocka bort hela stotdamparen nedat. 7 Montering av OHLIN-damparen: Starta med att fora olje-gas behaliaren underifran och upp, samt vidare ut pa hoger sida. For samtidigt upp stotdamparen och montera oyre skruven. (Se skiss). 8 Montera lanken och nedre stotdamparskruven, drag fast samtliga skruvar. 9 Montera behallaren med hjalp av monteringsgummin och medfoljande slangklammers. Se skiss. (Endast 89 ars modell). 10 Montera sidokapor och sade!. 11 Lyft ned MC:n fran stodet och montera kapans underde!.

Remove the bottom of the fairing. Lift the motorcycle and place it on a stand so that the rear wheel not touches the floor. 3 Remove the seat and side covers. 4 Remove the left silencer (first remove the bracket between the two silencers). 5 Loosen and remove the lower shock absorber boit, also remove the complete link. 6 Loosen and remove the original reservoir, upper shock boit and remove the .complete unit downwards. 7 Mounting of the new OHLIN-skock will start by pulling the reservoir and the damper itself upwards, place the reservoir and the right side according to the mounting sketch. Mount the upper boit. 8 Mount the linkage and the lower shock boit. 9 Mount the reservoir using mounting rubbers and supplied hoseclamps. See fig . (Only on 89 model) 10 Make sure that ail the bolts are tightened. 11 Mount the side covers, seat and fairing .

INTRODUKTION

Vid h6gre kolvstangshas samt dessutom genom kolven trycker da undan lagger dessa hal. Man k nom olika tjocklek, antal returdampningen.

Vid laga kolvstangshas bleedhalet, (streckad tu kan justeras i ett antal o damparen. Nalventilen som 16per inuti kolvsta oljan ut, men aluminiu 6kningen och stryper olj halls konstant dampnin penserande.

Vid laga kolvstangshastigheter pressas oljan genom ett s k bleedhal (streckad tunn pi!), f6rbi en nalventil. Denna ventil kan justeras fram och tillbaka och darigenom justeras dampningen i lagfartsregistret. Vid h6gre kolvstangshastigheter, s k mellan- och h6gfartsdampning, pressas oljan dels genom bleed-halet och dessutom genom hal i kolven och pressar da upp ett antal olika shims (tunna stalbrickor) som da b6jer undan och frilagger dessa hal. Man kan darf6r genom att andra dessa shims, (olika tjocklek, antal el1er diameter) andra kompressionsdampningen.

INTRODUCTION

UNDERHALL OCH KONTROLL

At higher speeds the oil is forced through the "bleed-hole" but also through orifices in the piston. The oilflow forces open a number of shims (thin steel washers) on the opposite side of the piston. By changing these different nubers, thickness or diameter it is possible to alter the medium to high speed compresison damping.

At low speeds the oil is forced through a "bleed-hole" (marked with a thin arrow in fig.), pa st the needle valve. This valve can be adjusted to different positions and thereby change the low speed damping characteristics.

Same as type 1 but with a hydraulic pre-Ioad adjuster for the spring which makes it very easy to adjust the spring when the bike is loaded with extra touring packing or similar. The ad justment range is about 12 mm .

SINGLE TYPE 2

Single shock without reservoir. The shock has external adjustment knob for rebound damping and adjustment rings for pre-Ioad adjustment of the spring. For bikes where it is difficult to fit a reservoir due to limited space etc.

3. SPRING PRELOAD

If the bike bottoms hard in big dips or while cornering, then turn IN the compression adjuster 2-4 "click" (clockwise) . But if the bike tends to be harsh, and kick bak when Vou are riding over changes in the tarmac or smaller holes in the road, then turn the compression adjuster OUT 2-4 "click" (counter clockwise).

COMPRESSION DAMPING ADJUSTMENT

If the bike feels soft, loose and tends to be unstable Vou can turn IN the rebound adjuster 2-4 "click" (counter clockwise). If the bike feels too slow on the rebound stroke and tends to "packdown" the rear suspension (the rearsuspension does not extend fast enough to the next bump in the road), then turn the rebound adjuster OUT 2-4 "click" (clockwise).

REBOUND DAMPING ADJUSTMENT

Be aware that periodic maintenance and control prevents the risk of functional problems. If the shock absorber would need servicing, the Ohlin dealer have ail the tools and expertise that is needed to solve any technical problem.
