1. General Description The SPCA508A provides a single chip solution to the PC camera application. It includes all the control, image processing, image compression and data transaction units needed by a PC camera. The compressed data is transmitted to the PC side via the USB bus with external DRAM or not. In addition, the embedded USB controller is a hard-wired state machine. There is no need to use external microprocessors.

Integrated single-chip design including the control unit, video processing and compression and USB data transaction unit.
Support RGB mosaic Color Filter Array CMOS image sensor I/F.
Provide window image’s white balance measurement and gain parameter control.
Provide window image’s exposure and sharpness measurement.
Adjustable compression rate
USB Suspend mode available
USB Vendor ID, Product ID, device release number, maximum power consumption and the string descriptor index and data selectable via an serial EEPROM (93C66/93C46) or internal ROM
Synchronous Serial Interfaces for CMOS sensor setting.
