2)

Player Board Installation :

Distribute to each player : -

1 individual board

-

1 counting card

Individual board (resume all possible actions a player can take during each of his turns)

3)

How to play :

There are 9 rounds. The Round card indicates the time available to the players to perform actions. Each player can use the minutes specified (between 8 and 12 minutes) to build his sand castle or protect it from the sea waves. At the end of the 9 rounds, the player with the more points wins.

4)

Round actions :

A) 1st player At the beginning of the 1st round, use the players pawns to randomly design the player who starts. The player to his left is 2nd player, etc. Then you have to put Wall cube’s player in the order of the turn at the beginning of the protection wall.

Distribute the « Turn order » cards to each player according to the player order on the protection wall. For the second round, it is the order of the cubes on the wall of protection that decided the 1st player. The player the more advanced on the protection wall is 1st player, the second more advanced is 2nd player, etc. The players who do not have moved on the wall remain in the order of departure.

SandCastles page N° 4

B) Round cards The 1st round card is printed on the playing board. Starting second round, take the top card of the draw pile “Round” and install it on the previous. The round card indicates 3 things :

1. The effect that needs to be applied to all players this round. Read the description and apply it. Some actions can be impacted during the whole round. 2. The number of minutes available for the round. Each player enters this number on his timer. 3. Sea wave strength (variant - see page 14) Give the strength of the wave : add as many wave tiles as there are waves icons (starting round 3).

C) Player actions The player will use the minutes made available to them, each in turn, starting with the first player. During his turn, a player can perform two actions : -

Move (1 minute per move between two neighboring places)

-

Activate a location (x minutes depending on the location and on the number of occurences)

The 1st player made two actions and count the minutes used on its timer. All players do then similarly in turn order until all players have exhausted their capital time.

D) Round end

1 – Castle tiles The Castle tiles needs to be replaced for the next round.

SandCastles page N° 5

1) Discard the tiles not constructed of the bottom line and put in a zone of discard pile near the board. 2) Shift the remaining tiles of the line (+1) on the bottom line. 3) Shift the remaining tiles of the line (+3) on the line (+1), or even on the bottom line if the location is empty.

Discard 4) Then place new castle tiles on all empty locations.

2 – Big waves : rounds 3-6-9 At the end of rounds 3, 6 and 9, there are large waves that are crashing on the beach. At that precise moment, each player looks at where it is located on the wall of protection of the area “Castles”. Round 3 : the 1st wave has a strength of 6 Each player having a score under 6 must place 1 Wave tile per difference between his score and 6. Round 6 : the 1st wave has a strength of 8 Each player having a score under 8 must place 1 Wave tile per difference between his score and 8. Round 9 : the 1st wave has a strength of 10 Each player having a score under 10 must place 1 Wave tile per difference between his score and 10.

Example : a player is on case 5 at the end of the

6th round ; therefore he must place 3 Wave tiles on his individual board. The first time you have to place a Wave tile, you must place it on one of the 4 cases marked with a wave picture. The wave tiles you’ll place during the game must be placed on the adjacent case to an existing wave tile. You can’t build your sand castle on places covered by a Wave tile. If a wave tile would cover a place that already has a castle tile, the castle tile is removed from the game.

At the end of the round 3 and 6, each player restart to the beginning of protection wall (but they keep turn order established during the round) because the wall of protection has been destroyed by the waves.

3 – Move the pawn « Round » to the next case SandCastles page N° 6

5)

Actions :

A) Move Players using this action will move their meeple from one location to another. It takes 1 minute to move from one location to the next. The 5 locations on which the meeple can go are : –

Sand castles

B) Activate a location To active a location, a player must have his pawn on this location.

During each activation of the location, the player chooses one of the puddles. He can change of puddle after each activation. All the fish are painted gray (except the bottom). Therefore you don’t know what color of fish you will go fishing. Only the “fishing rod” allows you to check the concidence of the draw pile.

Fishing with the landing net : Choose a pond and randomly pick a face-down fish.

Fishing with the rod : Choose a pond, and pick two face-down fishes. You can look at them face-up without showing them to the other players. Keep one and put the other one face-down in the pond. If a player catch a grey fish, it means that he was not successful ; he must put the grey fish back in the pond.

REMINDER : to -

A bucket can contain 2 fish maximum. Adding a fish to your castle can be done anytime you’re back to the Sand Castle location (No need spend additional time). Variant : Waves

Instead of having the waves with a predetermined strength (round 3 with strength 6, round 6 with strength 8 and round 9 with strength 10), you can use the wave symbols painted on the round cards to define the strength of the big waves each round. As well, you will not be able to predict the exact strength of the wave for the next round and you’ll have to adapt depending on the next round card. Each card have 1 to 3 wave symbols, therefore the wave strength will be between 3 and 9.
