George Lopez, the Rolling Stones, Billy Joel & Elton John, Prince, Luciano Pavarotti and Green Day are just a few of the musical acts that have visited the SBC Center. Other entertainment acts - including Sesame Street Live, WWE Smackdown and Raw, the Wiggles and championship boxing - have also made stops in San Antonio thanks to the SBC Center. The facility offers diverse events to the San Antonio community and all of South Texas thanks in part to its various seating capabilities which range from 1,000 in its theater setting to 18,797 for a Spurs game. To leverage its ancillary meeting spaces, exhibition/trade configurations and unique special event opportunities the SBC Center offers SME’s — Special Events and Meetings — throughout the year. This additional amenity further illustrates the facility’s full-service approach to every event’s specific needs. Built in a “ranch tech” style, the SBC Center is designed to present a sense of place, both inside and out. The external view, in addition to its distinctive architecture, features park-like landscaping that’s both visually appealing and environmentally friendly. Inside, the design continues to capture the South Texas ambiance with festive colors and imaginative details. Adding to the interior appeal of the SBC Center is a $1 million collection of fine art produced under the director of Spurs owners Peter and Julianna Holt. The diverse collection ranges from Texas-styled art to modern art to a basketball theme. “We are enormously proud of the SBC Center and what it brings to the community,” said Holt, who serves as chairman of Spurs Sports & Entertainment. “We’re proud to have been part of the effort. Now we can provide South Texas with some of the best sports and entertainment available anywhere in the U.S.”
