Jayce Ogren’s upcoming 2017-18 season includes appearances with the Indianapolis Symphony, Dallas Symphony, Edmonton Symphony, Columbus Symphony and Asheville Symphony. He leads the film score to Terrence Malick’s The Voyage of Time with the Wordless Orchestra at the Melbourne Festival, in addition to several concerts and projects with Orchestra 2001 in Philadelphia of which he is Artistic Director. Ogren leads Bernstein’s re-mastered West Side Story film with live orchestra with the Hong Kong Philharmonic, a work with which he made his NAC Orchestra debut in 2013. In 2014, he led the NAC Orchestra in performances with Emanuel Ax. He has just returned from leading Rufus Wainwright’s Prima Donna at the new Philharmonie de Paris. He also recorded this work for Deutsche Grammophone with the BBC Symphony. During the 2016–17 season Ogren led the Utah Symphony, the Brevard Music Festival, Colorado Symphony, the Princeton Symphony, the Casa da Musica Orchestra in Portugal, and returned to the Indianapolis Symphony. A native of Washington State, Ogren completed a postgraduate diploma in orchestral conducting, with a Fulbright Grant, at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm where he studied with the legendary Jorma Panula.
