FLIGHTDECKSOLUTIONS MCDU FOR WILCO AIRBUS SERIES Requirements: Before installing the product, please make sure you have the following: 1. Any version of Microsoft Flight Simulator: - FS2004 version 9.0 or 9.1 - FSX with or without SP1/SP2/Acceleration 2. Wilco Airbus Series Volume 1 or Volume 2 3. Registered version of FSUIPC 4. FSUIPC Exporter from Eric Marciano: This module is used to communicate with the Wilco Airbus systems. It is available on Eric Marciano web site here: http://emarciano.free.fr/FSUE

Installation Steps: 1. Plug the FlightDeckSolutions CDU device: - Plug the VGA cable - Connect the USB cable to your PC - Plug the power supply 2. Declare the FDS CDU screen as a second monitor. I suggest setting a 800 by 600 resolution. 3. Update the panel.cfg: - For the Wilco Airbus aircraft you want to fly, locate its panel.cfg in the “panel” subfolder of the aircraft folder (i.e. FeelThere PIC A320) - Before modifying the file, make a backup copy of the panel.cfg file. - Open the panel.cfg in a text editor such as Notepad - Scroll to the [Window04] section and do the following changes: [Window04] Background_color=0,0,0 size_mm=350,750 window_size_ratio=1.00 position=0 visible=0 ident=9995 window_size= 0.350, 0.750 window_pos= 0.650, 0.250 zorder=7 gauge00=A320CFM_feelThere!MCDU, 0,0,350,750

Change this into:

size_mm=350,285

Change this into:

visible=1

Remove this line Remove this line

Change this into:

gauge00=A320CFM_feelThere!MCDU, -60,-40,470,780

So you should have a section that looks like this: [Window04] Background_color=0,0,0 size_mm=350,285 window_size_ratio=1.00 position=0 visible=1 ident=9995 zorder=7 gauge00=A320CFM_feelThere!MCDU, -60,-40,470,780

Save the modified panel.cfg. 4. Download and install the FSUIPC Exporter if not already done. Refer to this product documentation for more information. 5. Download and install the FDS CDU Controller software here: http://www.tekworx.ca/downloads.php A new icon named “CDU Controller” should appear on the desktop. 6. Download and install the Wilco Airbus driver for FDS CDU here: http://emarciano.free.fr/files/FDS-MCDU.exe 7. Run the CDU Controller from the desktop icon or launch FDS-CDU.exe from the installation folder and: - The CDU Controller appears in the tray bar (bottom right corner, next to the clock) - Right-click the tray bar icon and select “Configure” - In the “Available modules” list, select “Wilco Airbus Series” - In the assignment table, assign your MCDU to “Airbus MCDU” (as the Wiloc Airbus aircrafts manage only a single MCDU, this choice is not really important) - Click the “Save” button

At this time, you should hear a “click” and see the CDU device monitor turning on.

8. Run Flight Simulator (FS2004 or FSX, any version) and select the Wilco Airbus aircraft on which you have modified the panel. 9. The first time you do this, I suggest you start in 2D panel mode. The MCDU screen will appear in the top left corner of the main screen.

Undock this window, move it to the second monitor that is the FlightDeck Solutions CDU screen. At this time you can switch FS to full screen mode if you wish. Then move and resize it accurately so that it fits the device screen.

10. The MCDU is now fully functional. Save the flight to keep the window positions, especially the position of the MCDU screen on the device. Next time you run the CDU Controller, it will restore the saved configuration so you will not have to select the “Wilco Airbus Series” configuration again.
