On 30 November 2006, in a conference room at the Canadian Senate in Ottawa, a fortuitous meeting took place. The presidents of the RMC Club Foundation (RMCCF), of the Fondation du CMR de Saint-Jean (FCMR), the Escadre Saint-Jean and the Montréal Chapter accepted my invitation to attend this meeting. 13731 Steve France and H17090 Hélène Ladouceur were also in attendance. H7860 Senator / LGen Roméo Dallaire, our host, graciously volunteered to mediate this gathering. Our goals: to identify the roadblocks to the “rapprochement” process started in 2000 aimed at integrating the CMR Ex-Cadets Club into the national Club and to outline a strategy to conclude this process in 2007.
Le 30 novembre dernier, une rencontre inédite s’est déroulée à Ottawa, dans une salle de conférence du Sénat du Canada. À mon invitation, les présidents de la Fondation du Club des CMR (FCCMR), de la Fondation du CMR de SaintJean (FCMR), de l’Escadre Saint-Jean et du chapitre de Montréal se sont rencontrés en compagnie de 13731 Steve France et H17090 Hélène Ladouceur. H7860 le Sénateur / LGén Roméo Dallaire, notre hôte, s’est généreusement porté volontaire pour modérer cette rencontre. Nos buts : identifier les embûches au processus de «rapprochement» amorcé en 2000 qui visait l’intégration de l’ex-Club des Anciens du CMR de Saint-Jean à l’organisation nationale et déterminer une stratégie pour conclure ce processus en 2007.
