Full Lesson – Purple Haze – Jimi Hendrix In the key of E (blues) Hi! This is a simple song to learn and the Main riff is really fun to play! Most people will find the chords a little more challenging but if you practice the chords with the strumming pattern that I demonstrated, you will quickly start to find it easy. Sequence Intro Main Riff – parts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 Chords (play 3 times then stop on the E power chord) 2nd Part 1, 2 Chords (play 3 times then stop on the E power chord) 2nd Part 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 (Jimi Hendrix does an improvised solo at this point. I suggest you play Main riff parts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 then finish with the Hendrix chord)

Here is the strumming pattern for the chords. (Play them through 3 times then play the short power chord on the end)

(At this point you can go back to the Chords, but when you get back here the 2nd time, keep going onto 2nd part 3)
