Etwinning Project : MATHS RIDDLES From September 2011 to the autumn holidays (05/09/11 - 21/10/11) Creation of a Powerpoint presentation From the classroom photo, creation of zones to associate each pupil with his own photo (beware: size 640x480) and a paragraph to introduce oneself written by each pupil. Each will make his own presentation. Acrostics Each pupil will also use the letters of his first name to tell about his personality in English (each letter corresponds to an English word) Logo’s contest In September, we ask volonteers among our pupils. We ask them to do a handmade logo (not using the computer). Then we scan and upload their works on the twinspace. We ask our pupils to vote for their favourite one (Romanian pupils vote for a French logo, and French pupils vote for a Romanian logo). We publish both winners on the twinspace , inside the gallery (with a little gift for both).

November 2011 – Winter holidays (03/11/11 – 24/02/12) Riddle n°1 (France) : November Christmas cards (to be sent on the 12/12/11) Riddle n°2 (Romania) : December/January Forum : communication between pupils on the Twinspace Example of organization for riddles (France): 1) Teachers write a riddle in English (on line on the website http://maths.terpereau.perso.sfr.fr/ and on our school website http://www.ac-nice.fr/jrostand/ ) 2) We organize a contest in our school for all the pupils of the same level (5°) 3) We organize the same contest for all the European pupils involved in the project. The pupils can post their answers during 15 days. The address is: [email protected] . Then we close the contest. At school the pupils belonging to the group”Maths in English” write all together their answer to the riddle, then they go through their partners’ answers with the help of their teachers. They choose the best answer for the internal contest and the best one for the external contest (one winner for each partner) . The winners receive a diploma and a gift.
