PAUL STEBBINGS is artistic director of TNT theatre Britain and The American Drama Group Europe. He was born in Nottingham and studied drama at Bristol University, where he received first class honours. He trained in the Grotowski method with TRIPLE ACTION THEATRE in Britain and Poland. Paul founded TNT theatre in 1980 and received regular Arts Council funding for work in the UK. Paul has also acted for NOTTINGHAM PLAYHOUSE and TNT and directed and written for SOUTH YORKSHIRE THEATRE, PARAGON ENSEMBLE Glasgow, TAMS THEATER Munich, the ST PETERSBURG STATE COMEDY THEATRE, the Athens Concert Hall MEGARON and the Russian TEATR EXPERIMENTA. His productions have toured to over twenty countries worldwide. Festival appearances include WIZARD OF JAZZ at the Munich Biennale (critics prize), the Off Broadway Festival in New York, the Tehran Fajr Festival the Tokyo International Festival, and award winning performances at the Edinburgh Festival (THE MURDER OF SHERLOCK HOLMES, in which he played the title role). His numerous productions for ADGE and TNT include MACBETH, BRAVE NEW WORLD, MOON PALACE (a dance drama version of Paul Auster’s contemporary novel) DEATH OF A SALESMAN, A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM and the recent prize winning HAMLET. One of Paul´s main areas of interest is the integration of music and theatre which culminated in his large scale production of production of MOBY DICK. In addition to FAHRENHEIT 451 this season sees the premieres of his TAMING OF THE SHREW,MACBETH and a new production of multi-cultural writing MANY VOICES plus revivals of his productions of FRANKENSTEIN, KING LEAR, A CHRISTMAS CAROL and OLIVER TWIST. This season sees his work touring to cities as diverse as Beijing, Lima, London and Berlin. PHIL SMITH was born in Coventry, England and studied Drama at Bristol University. He is a cofounder of TNT THEATRE with Paul Stebbings. He has written or co-written over 100 professionally produced plays and libretti – including work with physical theatres like PERPETUAL MOTION, community theatres like PROTEUS and community music theatre with OPERA NORTH and DR FOSTERS. More recently he has created site-specific performances with WRIGHTS & SITES and with them has developed an artistic form of exploring familiar places culminating in the publication of AN EXETER MIS-GUIDE ( www.mis-guide.com ) and his essay A SHORT HISTORY OF THE FUTURE OF WALKING (published at www.rhizomes.net Most recently he has written a children's play SPROUT for PROTEUS and staged his own outdoor piece TIME AND LIGHT in celebration of the centenary of the publication of Einstein's Theory of Special Relativity. Following the success of THE CRAB WALKS - an account of a walk re-visiting childhood holiday destinations - he will be performing a sequel CRAB STEPS ASIDE this summer. Phil also lectures at the Universities of Exeter and Plymouth and at Dartington College of Arts. Since 1993 TNT have collaborated on numerous productions with the AMERICAN DRAMA GROUP EUROPE, Phil working on these as co-writer and/or dramaturg, including MOON PALACE, OLIVER TWIST, HAMLET, THE CRUCIBLE and FRANKENSTEIN. 3

GLYN CONNOP was born in Worcester. He graduated from Rose Bruford College of theatre arts in London. Professional work includes Sebastian in THE TEMPEST for the English Shakespeare company and numerous new plays including the award winning TOO MUCH PUNCH FOR JUDY. He joined TNT to play the role of Harding in ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO’S NEST in 2001. Other roles for the company include Bottom in A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM, Horatio in HAMLET and Friar Laurence in ROMEO & JULIET. Glyn lives in London and when not acting often can be found working as a stage hand on West End Musicals or preferably travelling in Asia – a habit he picked up working for TNT.

DEBBIE LEIGH-SIMMONS was born in the English coastal city of Brighton, where she started her stage career as a dancer in the musical SOUTH PACIFIC. After many more musical appearances she moved to London to train at the renowned Italia Conti Academy. Since graduating Debbie has had a wide variety of jobs including being stabbed fifteen times for the BBC on CRIMEWATCH, dancing next to Reese Witherspoon in the film VANITY FAIR, playing a monster and sword fighting in BEOWULF and killing herself in EASTER STORY. Debbie has played many men before including Dr Watson, the famous sidekick of Sherlock Holmes and the biblical Pontias Pilate, and is greatly enjoying playing more male characters for this production. She hopes you enjoy the show.

Whilst in the US, she also played Adela in HOUSE OF BERNADA ALBA (Federal Theater, Denver) and Shirley in COLOURS OF YOUR LIFE (Eden Theater, Denver). British theatre credits include; 4.48 PYSCHOSIS (Old red Lion/Arcola); RATTLE OF A SIMPLE MAN (Nuffield Theatre, Southampton); SHAFT OF SUNLIGHT - EYE OF MOON (Palace Theatre); BROKEN SILENCES (Abbey Theatre). Gehane also appeared in two site-specific pieces H.O.M.E. (Beaumont Towers) and APNA GHAR (Black Country Theatre) and has performed readings of platinov's 14 LITTLE RED HUTS and Chapadijev's PERHAPS MERELY QUIET. Gehane has just starred in THE LAST VIRGIN (English Theatre, Frankfurt) and is thrilled to return to Europe with FAHRENHEIT 451. 16

PAUL FLUSH was born in Newcastle (in the North of England). At 16 he left school to play music in the country's top nightclubs, and played for many famous performers of the period including Billy ECKSTINE,Tony HANCOCK, Nancy WILSON, and The FOUR TOPS. After this period of practical experience, he went on to gain diplomas from the London College of Music and The Guildhall School of Music. In 1984 Paul began working as a full-time jazz pianist, leading to the formation of FULL CIRCLE. The band's range of activities has included such diverse projects as a jazz arrangement of Stravinsky's PETROUSCHKA for English Dance Theatre, performances at the world renowned Ronnie Scott's Club, and several successful festival appearances including Bracknell, Newcastle and Leuven (Belgium). An album, “Beauty of the Unexpected“, resulted in a commission to write and perform a suite in collaboration with the Belgian Radio Orchestra. From 1989-1993 he was the Musical Director for singer Tony CHRISTIE, so beginning an association that continues today with two major UK tours in 2005. Paul is currently performing with International DJ SVEN VAN HEES with his new live project SVEN VAN HEES & THE SVENGALI SQUAD (Blue Note Festival, Haarlem Jazz Festival). Paul has composed the music for many American Drama Group/TNT Theatre productions including MOBY DICK, MACBETH, BRAVE NEW WORLD, LORD OF THE FLIES, A MID SUMMERNIGHT'S DREAM, DEATH OF A SALESMAN, THE CRUCIBLE and FAHRENHEIT 451.

JULIANE KASPRIZK was born in north Germany. She studied design in Hamburg. She has worked extensively in German theatre, designing or assisting for the Hamburg Schauspielhaus and the city theatres in Kassel, Darmstadt as well as the Residenz theatre in Munich and many theatres on the “Free” or alternative scene in Germany’s theatre capital such as ETA and Theaterzelt. She has designed costumes for the all recent TNT and ADGE productions including DEATH OF A SALESMAN, THE CRUCIBLE, HAMLET , THE GRAPES OF WRATH, CHRISTMAS CAROL, KING LEAR and TAMING OF THE SHREW.

BERNHARD GROSS was raised in Munich, where he studied architecture and design at the academy of fine arts. Since graduating he has worked as a freelance designer, creating furniture, exhibitions and performances. His first theatre work was for Tams Theatre Munich, one of the oldest independent theatre. Since then he has worked for over 25 theatre productions in Germany. He has designed sets for TNT and ADGE productions of MACBETH , MOON PALACE, HAMLET and A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM, ROMEO & JULIET, KING LEAR and the new productions for this autumn: TAMING OF THE SHREW and FAHRENHEIT 451. 17

GRANTLY MARSHALL, actor, producer, founder of THE AMERICAN DRAMA GROUP EUROPE, begins his 30th season. This is his 193rd production.

GUNNAR FRED KUEHN Canadian actor, director, and producer has been with the company for 20 years. He is especially interested in producing Holland and Italy.

ALEXANDRA LEIPOLD received her degree in Chinese Studies in 2006 from the Ludwigs-Maximilian-Universität, München, and began immediately to work for THE AMERICAN DRAMA GROUP EUROPE.

ANGELIKA MARTIN has been involved in cultural management since the 1980’s. After completing assignments with various city governments in Germany, she became free lance and has worked with THE AMERICAN DRAMA GROUP EUROPE for the past 16 seasons. 30
