Printing 35mm Slides on the Polaroid ProPalette 7000 Pre-Shoot Instructions Open your Powerpoint presentation. Go to File>Page Setup. Change your orientation to "Landscape". Under the "Slide's sized for" drop down menu choose 35mm. If you don't choose this size your 35mm slides will have a black band around the top and bottom of each image after developing. Macs only: After doing the above click on the Options button in this window. This will bring up the regular Page Setup dialog. Make sure the Polaroid Pro Palette 7000 is the selected printer. From the Paper pull down menu choose "PowerPoint35mm". Make sure the paper direction is changed to landscape on this menu as well. IMPORTANT!!! DON'T SKIP THIS STEP!!!!!! Preview each slide of your presentation. When you change the Slides sized for box from "On screen Presentation " to "35mm" you are increasing the width of the slide. This may cause text to wrap differently and images to be moved. You must check each slide to make sure your formatting has been retained. Also check your fonts to make sure that no substitutions were made for fonts not on this machine or for unique characters such as scientific symbols. You should use the Symbol font for any Greek characters. Using keyboard combinations will cause your symbols to be replaced by other font characters. After you have previewed your slide show for formatting and changes to fonts you are ready to print to film.

Loading the Film Recorder This film recorder is configured to work with Kodak Elite Chrome 100 Slide film. (We have had best results with Fujifilm Fujichrome Sensia II 100 Slide film.)

Camera latch

Pull down the white panel at the front of the recorder. Push down on the small latch at the left side of the camera (Figure 1). The back of the camera will swing open. Pull about 1 1/2 inches of leader out of the film canister. Figure 1

Hold your film canister with the extension facing down (Figure 2). Insert your film into the camera at a slight angle by tipping the extension end of the film canister towards you. Insert the top end of the canister first then slide the bottom end (the end with the extension) in.

Figure 2 Slide the leader underneath the guide on the right of the camera (Figure 3A). Make sure that the sprockets at the top of the film are under the guide as seen below. Allow the excess leader to lay inside the take up reel (Figure 3B). No threading is required.

Figure 3B Figure 3A Close the back of the camera and push until it latches. You will hear the motor as the film threads itself. If the film does not thread itself open the back of the camera and make sure the leader is completely underneath the top guide. When the film is loaded the display will tell you the recorder is ready and how many frames you have available. The film recorder scrolls the film to the last frame and shoots backwards from there.. (Ex. - You would begin shooting on frame 36 of a 36 exposure roll).

Printing your slides Go to File>Print and choose the ProPalette 7000 from the Printer drop down menu PC Only: Make sure the "Pure Black and White" and "Grayscale" boxes at the bottom of the Print box are not checked.

Macs Only: Click on the pop up menu titled General and go to the "Microsoft PowerPoint" settings. Make sure the "Pure Black and White" and "Grayscale" boxes are not checked.

Exporting images from Photoshop Images opened in Photoshop can be shot on the film recorder as individual slides. Create or open your figures in Photoshop. The size of your image can be no more then 7.25 inches high and 11.25 inches wide. Go to File>Page Setup. Select the Polaroid ProPalette 7000 from the printer list. Make sure the orientation is set to "landscape". Under Paper choose "35mm". If you image exceeds 11 inches in width you may use "Powerpoint 35mm". Click on the preview box at the bottom of your image to make sure it will fit on the slide. The slide area is represented by the white box. The image is represented by the box with the X in it. Make sure that box does not expand past the white area. Go to File>Export>Polaroid Palette Export. If you want to make more than one slide of this image change the number of copies from 1 to the desired number. If you wish you may change where the image is placed on the slide. We recommend that you leave the vertical alignment on "middle". Click OK at the bottom of the window. The image will be printed to the film recorder.

Advancing the film to a different frame If you are shooting on film that already has some frames exposed or if you want to leave a blank frame between presentations you can advance the film manually without shooting an image. Press the double downward arrow button on the film recorder panel twice. The display should read "Change Setup?" on the top and "Advance Film?" on the bottom. If it doesn't press the double upward arrow button until it does. Press the single downward arrow button once for each frame you want to advance. Press the single upward arrow button to return to slide shooting mode. ProPalette-7000

Removing Film when complete If you have exposed every frame on your film roll the recorder will automatically rewind the film. Otherwise you must manually select rewind. Press once on the double downward arrow key on the front panel of the film recorder . The Display should read "Change Setup?" on top and "Rewind Film?" on the bottom. If it doesn't press the double upward arrow key until it does.

Press once on the single downward arrow key to rewind your film. Remember that the film recorder starts shooting from the last slide and continues to the first. If you have exposed an entire roll the rewinding process will only take a second or two. Press the single upward arrow key to return the film recorder to its original state. Pull down the white cover from the front of the recorder. Push up on the small latch at the left side of the camera to release the back cover. Remove your film, close the back cover of the camera and close the white cover over the camera.
