These instructions describe the additional work required for vehicles with manual transmission. The installation instructions are subdivided into the following sections: A. B. C. D.

Procedure
1 Install Tempomat/cruise control according to installation instructions 54.2, 54.3 or 54.9. Note On model 124.128 disconnect the white wire with 1pin coupling on the Tempomat/cruise control cable harness and insulate (no longer required). Then install the Tempomat/cruise control cable harness, Tempomat/cruise control switch and control unit according to installation instructions 54.2 and actuator according to installation instructions 54.9.
Only after completion of all work stages, reinstall the covers on the left-hand side below the instrument panel and put in the foot mat as well as reconnecting the battery.

2 Unscrew master cylinder from pedal block (arrows). If necessary unscrew pedal system from firewall and pull out slightly for better access to master cylinder mounting nuts (Removal and installation of pedal system 29-320).
3 Remove retaining ring from master cylinder pushrod with snap ring pliers and pull pushrod off of bearing bolt (arrow).

Insert actuating rod into holder.

Screw clutch pedal switch (S40/1) onto holder.

6 Install actuating rod with holder together with master cylinder on pedal system using new, longer bolts. 7
Install snap ring (arrow) for pushrod.
8 If pedal system was removed, screw back onto firewall. 1 2 3 S40/1

10 Disconnect 2-pin intermediate plug connector from Tempomat/cruise control cable harness on stop lamp switch or on multi-point plug connection for stop lamp switch and replace with 2-pin intermediate plug connector from adapter cable harness (plug connector X20). 11 Connect the connected intermediate connector from Tempomat/cruise control cable harness with 2pin coupling from adapter cable harness (plug connection X33/4). Then fasten the connector with a cable strap. 12 Reinstall covers below instrument panel. 13 Install foot mat. 14 Connect ground cable to battery. 15 Perform function check on road.
