Alfortville, March 30th 2007 Dear Sir or Madam, You are registered to the pilgrimage of this Summer in Kham (Eastern Tibet) which is organized by Kyabdje Gosok Rinpoche and we thank you for that. The object of this letter is to bring a certain number of information to you. As you are informed, this pilgrimage is scheduled from July 08th to July 25th 2007. There are several groups from different countries like France, Netherlands, Taiwan and United States. If one would like to come before the scheduled date, July 08th, the extra expenses are to one's own charge. The Itinerary is defined by Kyabdje Gosok Rinpoche and combines spiritual dimension with discovery of the Kham region, Eastern Tibet, attached today to the Chinese Province of Sichuan with the capital city as Chengdu. The objective of this travel is firstly spiritual. It acts of an exceptional pilgrimage, because it is a rare opportunity visiting with Rinpoche to those holy places. It will be thus the occasion to proceed to the bringing together of very vast collections of virtues, leavens of happiness for us and others, and to devote wishes. That will be also enable us to purify obscuration and misdeeds which, according to the Buddhist tradition, are the source of diseases and sufferings of "three doors", body, speech and spirit. This area was recently opened for foreigners. And as you can imagine it easily, the conditions of travel and stay remains rudimentary: the journey is in jeep (4 prs./jeep) and the hotels (2prs./room) are the best hotels of the region. In addition, it should be reminded that the climate of the region is quite hot in the daytime (23° - 29°), with even cold fresher nights. July is also monsoon season in the region. So, rainning time is also expected. The altitude is about 4000m! So, particularly for those people who would have problems of health and who would have to follow a particular diet are requested to inform because the meal will be exclusively Chinese and traditional Tibetan.
