DECEMBER 2010 TO ALL ANGLOPHONES LIVING IN OR VISITING CHAMONIX. Welcome to our first newsletter specifcally for you. We are the little church opposite the Chamonix station and would like to let you know what is going on for the community in conjunction with us. You are very welcome – whatever your belief – to join in any of the offered activities or simply to contact the team here if we can be of help to you in any way. We look forward to serving you whilst you are here in Chamonix. A Christmas message from Isabelle Pierron – our Pastor. The Gift of God. The Good News of Christmas is that God keeps his promises : Jesus is here! The heart of God beats in the heart of a man, humble and fragile. And when God gives, He gives completely. He does not look at what He's spending. God gives neither gold, nor paradise, nor a free ticket to the Kingdom ! He gives himself. God made himself human in Jesus, a man among men; so that we can fully experience our own human condition. Jesus, Son of Man - the Way for humanity. This is why Christmas is for every day. Because it's about each one of us receiving the gift of God for ourselves ....every day! So the time of Advent is given to us to prepare to celebrate Christmas "all together" . I hope you will find the time to pray and rest in God in the midst of all the party preparations. I hope you will recognise the love which lies behind the shining gifts. I hope you will have the courage to share and show solidarity with those who find themselves, like the child in the manger, "reduced to sleeping on straw"! I wish you a Christmas of generosity, of sharing, of joy and of peace! Isabelle Pierron
