These low cost, high performance, GPS core receivers are available in configurations optimized for precision timing, positioning and precision tracking applications. All Oncore™ GPS receivers and accessories are available off-the-shelf in low quantities for evaluation and product development and in high volumes to satisfy OEM production demands. The Oncore™ family of GPS receivers incorporate Motorola GPS custom ICs (integrated circuits), Motorola MPUs (microprocessor units), and Motorola GPS receiver software. Introducing Motorola’s Newest Twin Receivers: Same Look, Different Personalities ... Oncore™M12+ Timing Receiver

Oncore™M12+ Tracking Receiver With dimensions that measure 40 x 60 x 10 mm, the M12+ has the same form factor as the original M12. Available with right angle and straight data header configurations, its small size provides optimal application integration. The M12+ was developed for a wide range of GPS positioning and tracking applications. Requiring only 165 mW at 3.0VDC, the M12+ is ideal for low power applications. Like its predecessors, the M12 features an RTCM differential GPS input, NMEA 0183 output, two COMM ports, inverse differential GPS support, a user-

controlled velocity filter and an antenna-sense circuit. Pseudorange output is also available.

The M12+ Timing Receiver offers all the features of the widely used UT+ GPS receiver in a much smaller form factor and 12 channels instead of 8. The M12+ Timing Receiver provides the reliability and 1PPS accuracy to satisfy the demanding needs of OEMs serving the telecommunications, broadcast, and wireless industries. In addition to its field proven Timing Receiver Autonomous Integrity Monitor (T-RAIM), the M12+ Timer includes an Automatic Site Survey function for faster field installation and a user-selectable 1PPS or 100PPS precision output.

Instant GPS chip The Instant GPS Chip is a single chip (7mmx7mm) Autonomous A-GPS solution incorporating both RF and base band functions into a single chip. Instant GPS enables easy integration of GPS location sensing into virtually any application. The platform provides an array of features including assisted and autonomous GPS operation, in-building positioning capability, and virtually instant time to first fix with signal detection to -153dBm. It also includes a low noise amplifier allowing the user to choose either an active or passive antenna. Functionality is scalable between fully autonomous operation with the MG4100 and “Mobile System Centric” A-GPS network assisted operation with the MG4000. The MG4000, with 128K SRAM, is suitable for applications where GPS Assist data is available. The MG4100, with 256K SRAM, is suitable for applications requiring full autonomous operation. Early adopter kits are available now for $25,000. This kit includes 50 hours of engineering support from Motorola. Regular, lower cost evaluation kits will be vailable early summer 2003. The SynPaQ/III is the next generation replacement for the XTS/III GPS sensor and the original Motorola XT Oncore™. This new design optimizes the performance and features of the XTS/III at a lower cost. The Motorola Oncore™ based SynPaQ/III GPS sensor is ideal for vehicle and asset tracking, drive test systems, timing applications, and new application development. A Motorola ONCORE™ UT+, GT+ or M12+ receiver is embedded in the SynPaQ/III as required by the specific application. For receiver specifications please refer to the appropriate receiver specification sheet. The SynPaQ/III sensor includes an industry standard DB-9 Serial Port for data I/O. Separate connectors are provided on the front panel for RTCM-104 DGPS input, power input, and 1PPS monitoring. The SynPaQ/III front panel features four LED indicators for 1PPS on, Data receive (RXD), Data transmit (TXD), and DGPS input. Also, the SynPaQ/III features an RS-232 level 1PPS signal wired to the DCD line on pin 1 of the DB-9 connector for testing network timing applications. A second buffered TTL 1PPS output signal for monitoring is available on the front panel. The SynPaQ/III-QA (photo left) is an open version of the SynPaQ/III which provides a cost effective test fixture for all Motorola Oncore™ GPS receivers.

SynPaQ/III-E GPS Sensor

The SynPaQ/III-E (photo right) provides the same features as the SynPaQ/III in an aluminum housing designed for rugged environments. This model is available with embedded M12, GT+, or UT+.

GPS-Wireless OEM Products The SynTraq™/I integrates the Motorola® CreataLink® 2XT Two-Way Transceiver and the Motorola M12 Oncore® GPS Receiver in a single, custom package. Each module is integrated on each side of a custom-designed interface board. This board provides power regulation and a communication link between the CreataLink® and the M12. The interface board can be customized to specific customer requirements such as adding external processors or creating a smaller footprint.

Synergy Systems’ GPS smart antenna integrates two highquality products from Motorola: the UL approved Timing2000 antenna and either one of two M12+ GPS receivers. For precise timing applications, the antenna is integrated with the new M12+ Timer receiver. For network timing applications, the antenna is integrated with the M12+ GPS receiver. For tracking applications, the M12+ receiver is housed in a low profile domed enclosure. This product is highly recommended for applications that require long cable runs and operate in high EMI environments.

The small size (38x 34x 13.2mm) Hawk antenna is designed to meet the stringent environmental and performance needs of the automotive market Motorola place. The antenna is offered in two versions: Hawk 3VDC and 5VDC. The 3VDC version is designed to operate with Motorola’s M12 Oncore™ GPS receivers, as well as other 3VDC receivers. The 5VDC version is designed to operate with Motorola’s VP, GT+ and UT+ GPS receovers as well as other 5VDC GPS receivers.

Tracking Antennas SRV15/16 GPS Antenna

This robust, low profile active antenna is designed to operate in rugged environments. The antenna contains a gasket seal between the top radome and the base and a metal blocking nut to prevent theft. It is ideal for vehicle tracking applications requiring through-hole antenna installation.

This small antenna (34.0mm X 25.3mm X 10.9mm) is ideal for applications that require a short cable run. It SMK-4 operates at 3-5VDC and features an LNA with a typical gain of 24dB.

VIC-100 Antenna

The triple filtered VIC-100 GPS antenna is ideal for fixed location, timing applications that require long cable runs in areas of high EMI and long term exposure to the elements.

The SMA-35 is a high performance GPS patch antenna with an LNA in a compact, fully waterproof SMA-35 enclosure. Operating at 3-5VDC, the SMA-35 provides excellent signal amplification in addition to out-ofband filtering and rejection.

The SA-50 combines a GPS patch antenna with a state-of-the-art low noise amplifier. The SA-50 is ideal for embedded or covert applications. This 3-5 VDC antenna provides excellent signal amplification in addition to out-of-band filtering and rejection. SA-50
