Yow NOVAG RUBY has 48 different lev€ls of skil ro suit €very ry[,e of playing conditions that you wish to sot. These ar€ divided into 6 sections(plus section SOLVE MArE) and they aro lisred below. To set the NOVâG RUBY to any of the 48 levels press the LEVEL key. Each further press will advanceto the next level group and you will see otr the LCD the abbreviation(tr = Tournament l€v€I, At = AverageTime level, Sd = Sudden Deârh level, Fd = Iix€d Deptù l€vel,Àn = Analysis level,EA = Novice l€vel) of rhe level thât you bav€ selecred.Pleaserefer to the level rable for tbe m€aning of each of the zl8 levels. REFEREE mode is on and just ' rf,f ' when it is off. PressREFEREE while displâyed to change the current status. The followirg features are still available whilst in this mode: TAKE BACK / COLOR / HINT / SET UP / VERIFY / SOUND / GO. 7)

HINT IGy

The NOVAG RUBY can suggestmov€s,if you are not sure how to conthue your game, which is a greâ! tutoring feature. When it is your turn pressthe HINT key and the computer will show the mov€ it considercthe best for the colour to nove (the move will be shown on display). You can accept aoy suggestedmove or may make a move of yoù choice evenwhilst a HINT is being displayed.If you accept the suggestedmove siûply presscO and the computer*ill imûediatelyreply with its counter-mov€. lf you pressthe HINT key whilst the computeris calculating,tho displaywil show the move the compùter would play if the GO key was pressed.Press CLEAR to clear the LCD displayand go back to the rotatinginfo display. The suggestedmove is tbe best possiblemovc io tbis position computed by the NOVAC RUBY at the level preset by you. 8)

TRAINING Key

This function is to help the noviceplayer: Step One : When it is your turn to move press th€ TRAINING key and tho computer will showthe ' from ' square(indica(edon the LCD) of the 6rst piecewitl a legel If you continue to press the TRAINING key, the NOVAG RUBY will showyou all pieces with at l€ast one legal move.
