Nous vous remercions d’avoir acheté ce joint. Pour commencer, démontez l’ancien joint. Retirez le toit et retournez-le de façon à accéder au joint. Retirez les vis des baguettes en métal qui maintiennent le joint en place. Pour cela utilisez un tournevis cruciforme (Phillips #2). Notez bien l’ordre dans lequel les différentes baguettes se démontent. Le remontage se fera dans l’ordre inverse. Vous devrez retirer d’abord les angles extérieurs ensuite les deux pièces arrières. Notez bien le recouvrement. Nettoyez ensuite soigneusement l’emplacement du joint. L’acétone est agressif mais donnera une surface propre. Si vous le souhaitez vous pouvez également utiliser de l’alcool dénaturé. Positionnez le nouveau joint et centrez le correctement. Retirez ensuite la protection de l’adhésif. Positionnez sans appuyer car vous souhaiterez peut-être re-décoller le joint localement pour trouver les trous de vis.

First of all thank you for your purchase. Enclosed you will find your rear targa seal. First, remove the old seal. Remove the targa top and turn over so that you may work on the seal area. To remove the old seal use a #2 Phillips screw driver to first remove the screws holding the metal trim in place. Note the order in which the trim removes as you will have to reinstall in reverse order. It should remove outer edges first, then the rear 2 pieces, note the overlap. Next, clean the area thoroughly, Acetone is aggressive, but will offer a clean surface. If you can use denatured alcohol if you prefer. Next place the seal on the area to be installed to center it properly. Then remove the backing from the self adhesive tape backing. Set into place gently, as you may wish to pull up an edge here or there to find the screw holes when attaching the old metal strips.

Tant qu’elles sont démontées, vous pouvez nettoyer les baguettes chromées. Un peu d’acétone vous permettra de dégraisser et nettoyer rapidement. Vous pouvez également utiliser un lustrant pour chrome. Référez-vous aux instructions du fabricant. Il est souhaitable de remplacer les vis oxydées par des vis en inox de même dimension. Vous remarquerez que le joint est prévu un peu plus long que nécessaire, afin que vous puissiez l’ajuster parfaitement. Découpez l’excédent avec une lame de rasoir ou un cutter.

While you have these off it is a good time to clean the chrome strips, a little acetone will take odd the grease and grime very fast, or you can use Maguire's #6 cleaner / wax to give them a nice shine. Just make sure to let them sit for a minute or two for the wax to dry then wipe with a clean cloth. You can also replace rusty screws with stainless while these are off. You will notice that the seal will be slightly larger than the trim, you can use a razor blade to trim off the excess. Your installation should look something like this.
