Affordable Standalone Monitoring With APCON’s packet aggregation technology, network managers are able to share an inventory of limited monitoring resources―whether centralized or distributed across multiple locations. APCON’s standalone IntellaFlex-LE offering is a chassis and blade combination that features twelve 1G and two 10G ports―for a combined total of 14 aggregatable ports. This space-optimized 1RU design is ideal for applications requiring low port densities, or low port counts distributed across multiple locations.

As with all APCON network monitoring solutions, IntellaFlex-LE allows data from multiple sources to be aggregated, filtered, load balanced and directed to data mining and forensic devices instantly and remotely through a secure web interface. This solution offers many-to-many port connectivity, which allows network managers to multicast data from one or more SPAN or Tap ports to multiple destinations―enabling analysts to view the same data with different sets of tools.

Drag-and-Drop Diagramming The embedded web interface included on IntellaFlex-LE switches allows network managers to immediately begin configuring and changing port connections. Connections are managed using simple point-and-click or dynamic, Visio-style drag-and-drop diagrams.

Routine tasks such as backing up settings and pushing software upgrades to an inventory of APCON switches can now be conducted from a single screen. Engineers can also manage the same end-to-end connections between data sources and network analysis equipment through this interface.

Given this reality, many organizations are seeking ways to use existing 1G tools to monitor both 10G and 1G network infrastructure. The rate conversion capabilities included with IntellaFlex-LE make it possible to effectively monitor 10G network segments with existing 1G tools.

Add Data Capture and Analysis with IntellaStore® To boost the functionality of IntellaFlex-LE, APCON offers an optional module—IntellaSTORE data capture and embedded Wireshark® data analysis. The IntellaSTORE data capture module offers a capability unique among packet aggregation switching solutions by making it possible to isolate portions of network traffic and store them on the switch. This system allows users to save captures from a single source or multiple aggregated links, and it can be used in conjunction with

advanced software features such as filtering and port tagging. Once stored, captured data files can be analyzed using the embedded Wireshark module, which opens directly in the browser window and offers full Wireshark functionality. Data captures can also be exported for review and analysis with other tools.
