On behalf of COST Action FP0702, Michel Villot and the CSTB are pleased to invite you to the final conference: “Net-Acoustics for timber based lightweight building and elements” It will be held at the Centre Technique du Papier in Grenoble (France), Thursday, October 18th 2012. COST Action FP0702 has worked for the last 4 years on the evaluation and prediction of the acoustic performances of timber based lightweight constructions, as well as of their performances related to walking induced vibration. In 4 years, knowledge has increased by gathering existing data, as well as by supporting, guiding and coordinating new research activities at national level in order to benefit from this research work. All the Action outcomes will be presented at this final conference. This one day conference is directed towards industry, consultants, architects, Public Authorities, standardization group members and students. It will be presented in English and structured in 2 parts at a level easily understandable by anyone with some acoustical background:  general presentations in the morning : acoustics and vibration comfort in buildings, contribution of the Action, requirements and guidelines to achieve it  more technical presentations in the afternoon : comfort assessment, measurement methods and prediction models The conference proceedings and the e-book summarizing all the technical production of the Action will be provided at the conference.
