My diary

Monday 12th May : in the afternoon : At 4:30 p.m, we took off from Geneva. I wasn't very scared because I had already taken the plane. The plane trip happened fine even if François nearly missed the plane because of his cast. We landed at Liverpool John Lennon airport and we went to Chester on a coach with Andrew ( the bus driver ). in the evening : Finally, we arrived in the host family around 8 p.m. Unfortunately, the land lady ( Val Peto ) was not in her house and her 18 years old son looked after us and fed us. I was very exited to meet my new family. They were very, very nice. I was exhausted but I was very happy.

Tuesday 13th May : in the morning : François, Romain and I were in the same family. We woke up around 6:30 a.m and after getting up, we had breakfast with our family and we could speak English with Val. After that, we visited the museum of Enguinuity, it was very cool and interactive. at lunchtime : We had lunch next to the bridge and the landscape was very beautiful. Some pupils were very surprised because their packed-lunches were very disgusting. in the afternoon : We saw a very old town ( Blist Hill Victorian Town ) with Victorian shops and factories. The occupants wore Victorian clothes. This town looked very real. It was very nice and interesting. in the evening : With Val and her sons, we met their friends and we ate barbecue. They were very, very nice. We felt immediately comfortable. We went back to Val's home around 11 p.m. It was a great evening.

Wednesday 14th May : in the morning : We woke up around 7 a.m and after getting up, we had breakfast with our family. After that, we went to Llandudno. We saw the Great Orme with the sea, it was very beautiful. It was very cool because we did shopping and we did toboggan. at lunchtime : We had lunch on a hill next to the sea and the landscape was very beautiful. Everything happened fine even if we had some problems with gulls.

in the afternoon : We visited the Caernarfon Castle. It wasn't inhabited for lots of years but it was still very beautiful. Dylwynn was our guide and he was very nice. He explained to us a lot of information about Caernarfon Castle. in the evening : We returned in our family around 6:30 p.m and we ate with Val and her sons around 8 p.m. After dinner, I spoke with Val and we went to bed around 10:30 p.m.

Thursday 15th May : in the morning : We woke up around 6 a.m and after getting up we had breakfast with Val and we spoke about her and her friends ( two or three customs and specialties of England ). After that we went to York with Andrew ... In York, Judith waited for us. She was our guide and with her, we visited York. York is a very beautiful city with a lots of history. at lunchtime : We ate our packed-lunches in York. We had to eat quickly because we were just on time. in the afternoon : We went to the National Railway Museum. We saw more than a thousand trains. It was interesting but quite long. We had to complete a worksheet. After the visit, we had two hours on the coach to went back to Chester. So we had a long time to speak and laugh.

in the evening : We went back home around 7:30 p.m. We had a good surprise when we arrived home. Val's friends were at home !!! We had a very good evening.

Friday 16th may : in the morning : We woke up around 6 a.m and after getting up we had breakfast with Val. After that we went to Liverpool on our coach. We visited the Merseyside Maritime Museum. We saw a model of the Titanic and a lot of boats. It was interesting but quite long and boring. at lunchtime : We ate our lunch-packed next to Albert Dock. The landscape was very beautiful and Liverpool is a pretty town ... ( it is the European Capital of Culture 2008 ). in the afternoon : We visited the Albert Dock and it's surroundings. After that we went to the Beatles Story Museum. It was a very good museum; interesting and attracting. I bought a lot of stuff about the Beatles. in the evening : We went back to Chester and we had a “ Ghost Tour ” with Tom (our guide, a little bite strange ... ). He told us a lot of stories about ghosts and I was a little be scared ... Finally, we went back home and we immediately went to bed.

Saturday 17th May in the morning : We woke up around 6 a.m and after getting up we had an English breakfast with sausages, toast, bacon, and a lot of specialties ... We said “ Good bye ” and “ thank you very much ” to our family for all that they did for us and we went to the coach with our luggage. Before going to the airport, we visited Liverpool. After shopping, Milena was run over by a car. I was scared but the teachers controlled the situation. Finally mister Fournier and Milena stayed in England and took a plane later. After that we went to the airport but we didn't have our identity cards ... 3 minutes before the plane took off miss Labourier arrived with the cards. We thought we couldn't take the plane but fortunately, the plane waited for us and all happened fine. Finally we arrived in Geneva around 4 p.m and our parents were waiting for us.
