Our mission is to develop, as an alternative to petroleum-based synthesis, a production of dyes and pigments based on fermentation processes. We believe that the next generation of those chemicals should involve more sustainable methods of production. Microorganisms allow us to efficiently combine sustainability, safety and performance in the production of organic intermediates. We work at Toulouse White Biotechnology, center of excellence for white biotechnology to engineer the future of natural colours. We have access to a large set of bioreactors, culture and metabolic engineering robots, analytical platform and latest genetic tools. TWB welcomes us to reinvent colour manufacturing through synthetic biology and modern organic chemistry. Our products are intended to integrate any application requiring colours, from textiles to cosmetics including (bio)plastics. We are looking for an Engineer with a metabolic engineering background to pursue the development of our range of natural and biobased colours in our research centre at TWB. SKILLS  Proficiency in molecular biology, microbial genetics and genome engineering applied to biotechnology  Autonomy in the design of molecular biology experiments (PCR primers, cloning)  Microbiology skills applied to biotechnology  Technical know-how in enzymology / Biochemistry  Use and mastering of the computing tool (Pack office, molecular biology software)  Writing of reports and oral presentation

REQUIREMENTS  Master or equivalent  Significant experience in metabolic engineering applied to biotechnology  Skills in molecular biology technics  Deep knowledge of microbial genetics and genome engineering applied to biotechnology  Ability to communicate results clearly and succinctly  Ability to work as a team member and to work independently as required.
